They inevitably include both a "spend emeralds to win" and a "get vip to win" achievement, which just as inevitably include hero's way points along their progression, in addition to the best rewards of the event itself. And there are a lot of points even in the in game objectives that are so insanely out of reach that the only way to get them is to spend emeralds to unlock additional things. More than a free to play game, this is becoming more and more a paid service instead.

Too bad they have changed the hero's way so that to complete it, even as a free to play, you have to pay...
I was so hopeful for the changes because the rewards are so much better...but definitely not worth the money nor the emeralds
