typical with those carbs i always put a shut off valve when they do that actually had one catch fire it was my first rider i ever worked on good lesson was able to save it used a cloth towel to put fir out got it in time

That engine in the red one needs a head gasket. All of them do it, some with under 100hrs, it’s a coming brigs issue. I’d say fix the head gasket & sell it. Had 2 of those tractors & got rid of them both & kept my 212.

if that intek smokes it's the head gasket B&S improved the replacement gasket oil is getting in the cylinder & the mufflers fall apart on these. bought new from sears in 2010 my yts3000 still going strong but the 46" deck & spindles takes a pounding from silver maple above ground tree roots
I would cut around the silver maple and use a hand saw to cut it period
Don't ya just hate it when you buy a brand new mower and something like first go of mowing you smash a hole in the shoot or something bad happens
i've got that same mower except mine has a 50in deck and had a kohler v twin, now has a 16.5 briggs which seems to run it without issue, the tank on mine has the kind of fuel outlet with a rubber grommet and push in nipple
man update on the ford mower project, yessir it worked. yes I said worked lol, maybe I got a little to comfortable and removed the governor........ I was riding with a buddy and I wanted to show out at the creek and blew the 20hp koler, so now I'm thing of putting a Kawasaki on it off of a zero turn lol, maybe it will last a little longer, as always dude love the vids!
So i vote you lower it and make a fast race mower out it! Like 25 mph plus!

Nice! 2 for 2. Hope you can do the same for the Huskee! The Huskee Briggs motor wiped a lobe off the cam maybe three years ago. I replaced the cam, two of the bent pushrods and lapped the valves while it was apart. Had to peen the guide in place, it backed out at some point. Ran great thereafter and was my primary mower until I got my John Deere 318 and 430. I would start it from time to time but then I found it with milky oil, presumably from the bad valve cover gasket. I am enjoying watching the content!

I made one out of a 5000 model with a stock 24 hp twin but I Moded it so it has 30 hp and goes speedy and I tow boats with it , it shoots flames
Money and mud mower parts can be fun, I would think it would depend on the market and if you can sell it for a decent amount.

I think the mower might be a good racer! The engine I bet wants a head gasket, I think a mallet might bring the hood back to its proper self, thanks for posting

I just got a new rider the other day, Its got a 12.5 flathead single in it, I think its a dynamark. Bought it sight unseen, Doesnt run.
I have a troy that doesn't have gears, not hydrostat either. Just mimics one. I wonder how fast it would go?

Mower is smoking is from a blown head gasket bud. All it needs is a head gasket no more smoke.

@@chud327 i even use it in my truck, my truck used to smoke a little while cold, not no more. they sell it at Walmart and it 100% clears up smoking from about 2/3 the motors i put it in. i think it works by leaving lead deposits in your cilinderwall to fill in scratches.
My main problem is I'd get something like the carburetor apart and forget how it goes back together.

I would rather invest in a Sonic cleaner and clean the carb properly and tjen replace the head gasket and check the plugs anndput a new exhaust on and sell it as a mower and not a trackter

I have a 5" beveled bolted to the hood of my mower but its not functional.

Those decks rust out in the center like that .......I take mine off at the end of the season and soak it with burnt motor oil for the winter
If it smokes bad, I would replace head gasket and sell it to buy more mowers.
