This scene was so triggering but a textbook example of 'you only have control of yourself'. When someone can get you angry/ out of character, they have control over you so the restraint she displayed is admirable.
Mel is not over the pain Martell has caused and she was honest about it but you can see the peace in her eyes. Whereas Martell, you can see the pain in his; the pain of regret and I believe he is sorry but his apologies come with a condition and he almost always wants forgiveness instantly. And this is what Mel was trying to point out to him in this scene.
Mel has her guard up, and rightly so. Martell is very immature and self-destructive, and I think Mel at some point was enabling his behaviour. However, her growth is beautiful to see and how she has recognised what serves her and what doesn't incl. her relationships with the "getback crew". Wishing her all the best in her healing and future endeavours.
