@ Not Brad, bot I can answer it.
Because by tackling things like this incorrectly, you can actively make things worse.
People hate being preached to, and most will do the exact opposite of what you want them to do, simply out of spite.
Kinda like how Captain Planet actually made people WANT TO destroy the environment.

Lloyd might like tro know,as a detective cat, that Hanna-Barbera had a detective cat, voiced by the great Daws Butler, Super Snooper, with a 13 year old mouse, Blabber Mouse, as an assistant! Came out on Quick Draw McGraw, woith Augie Doggie, and they, too, wqere on that 1973 showe..

After the flood business was over Noah got drunk and his sons found him hung over, naked. He cursed his son Ham who was the only one to not avert his eyes from the father's shame. Ham and all his descendants were to be servants or slaves to the others for all eternity.
Many believed (and some still do) that all black people are the descendants of Ham and used those Bible verses to justify their racism.

Racist Yogi could make a better show. Put him in an episode of every Hannah Barbera cartoon series, and just let him roast the hell out of the main characters.
Fred: "Let's split up, gang. Velma, Daphne, and I will go this way, and Shaggy, Scooby, and Yogi can go the other way."
Yogi: "You're just sending us down the more dangerous path!"
    Fred: "What?"
Yogi: "And don't think I don't know what you're up to with taking both the girls with you!"
Fred: (worried) "I would argue... but then I'd be arguing with a bear."
Yogi: "Why not? YOU TALK TO A FUCKING DOG."

These kinds of shows fascinate me because they sort of display this tremendous anxiety about and alienation from children. We simultaneously desperately need to teach children that bigotry is bad but we can't trust kids to deal with even a remotely honest explanation of why people become bigoted. It's such a weird dynamic buried under all the cheap animation.

Whats wrong with Haggling? Why is it tied with bigotry? Was it just one of those 50s hold-over ideals where it was something that was seen as rude? I guess some people still see it as rude for some reason though clumping it together with bigotry is a bit extreme. It would be like having a character named Jesus then his henchmen are Forgiveness and Tax Evasion. At least with that you can rationalize that religions are tax exempt.

You have the comedy characters, (Which includes Yogi, The Flintstones, The Jestsons, ect. ) The mystery solving teams, (Scooby-Doo, and the rest) the super hero characters. (Space Ghost, Galaxy Trio, Frankenstein Jr. The Impossibles, etc.) and the other action fair like say 'Johnny Quest', or 'Swat Kats'. They all have no rhyme, or reason to mesh, but I hope it works out again.

If you wanna see a better Yogi Bear and the other Hannah-Barbera characters in an ark, watch Yogi's Treasure Hunt. Maybe not better, but that one was less psa-ish. Also, there's another Yogi Bear in space series called The Galaxy Goof-Ups, and you can definitely tell that one was made in the 70's because in every episode they are always on a pyschedelic lsd-esqe disco club! =P

Later there was an awesome version of the "HB characters on a flying ark" concept called "Yogi's Funtastic Treasure Hunt" that was just wacky shenanigans and 80s pop culture jokes, no preachy morals to be found.
