Very nice! I tried it once myself, but I just sort of matched both complete verses... It didn't improve the originals. As much as I'm a David Sylvian fan I would have loved to hear a bit more Nina. And BIG thanks for Steve for 'introducing' me to Nina, I really love her solo albums.
Hi Brad and thank you for your comment. Obviously and absolutely the credid goes completely to Steve Jansen for this beautiful song, I hope that I didn't give the impression of wanting some credit for myself, that would really horrify me! In fact I often think that SJ doesn't get the full credit that he deserves. I edited the two voices "by hand" (so to speak) as I work with a program called NERO7 which is extremely limited from that point of view but I thought that the non....(follows)
.....perfect sinc gave a live (ish) feel to it. After interminable hours trying, I felt that I couldn't make it anymore in sinc with the equiptment at my disposal (at present in my local PCWORLD, NERO7 is 54 pound sterlings!) For the images I use WMM which is free and the rest I do with my little keyboard. (hardly professional!) Again, thanx for your comment and encouragement, it means a lot to me. Take care mate.
Hey thanx a bunch again! And not just for the compliments but also cos' you made me aware of an artist and a track that I didn't know. You are absolutely right, is a very beautiful song. I would love to try and make my own version but, it will take time, you see, I work with very ancient equipment and do everything by hand and in this type of remix I generally edit the vox word by word so that I can "sit it" on my bass & drums then after that I work on structure and arrangement, as you.....
Interesting again. I am more interested what Steve J thinks about this than David. I would love a Stina Nordenstam duet on this & Some Small Hope if he ever plays live again?
interesting mix, love the visuals; as you say, the audio sync doesn't work in places - leading to some interesting syncopation! It's one of the finest songs I've heard, but to be fair, credit should go to Steve Jansen!
Hi Sorry! Re. credits, I simply meant the title of your video. I agree, it must be annoying for Steve to constantly be regarded as being 'in the shadow'of his brother, brilliant though both are. I'm amazed you got these results with just Nero/WMM! You really need something like SoundForge, with a decent timestetching plugin, for frame accuracate results. Great 'tho - I really like it. Will check out the rest of your work. Thanx.
Wonderful work, combining both versions to make something better than either! Sylvian's voice is utterly dreamy.
.....Can imagine, that takes time. Anyway, thank you again for your encouragement and compliments, it really means a lot to me. peace. Montecristo
This is a freaking unbelievable remix. I love both versions. I love Sylvian's voice and Nina's fairy voice perfectly matches David's voice.
Nice work my friend...beautiful mix of the two voices and a great respect of the original!
Thanks again!
Denis

Fucking beautiful 💪
Thank you very much. Obviously the merit goes first to Steve Jansen and then all the other talented guys. I just had some fun.
