I've been playing GGST for almost 1k hours and being mostly a Johnny main since his release and I can get Celestial Challenge but can't seem to beat it. I have a feeling this guide is going to flesh out my basics enough to where I can finally push through; this is by far the best and most digestible Johnny guide on TH-cam. If you made a follow-up advanced Johnny guide that includes the changes he got recently (dash buff, counter hit MF state buff, and 5H range buff) I think that would be awesome and extremely helpful/useful to many. Thanks Uwabami my GOAT!! Edit: now that I think about it there is a big balance patch coming on Oct 31st so maybe take that into consideration

I just bought the season 3 pass the moment Slayer was announced and was planning to main Johnny. As a newb, this video is superb ! Love the explanations, especially the oki part since I'm kinda struggling with that. Thumbs up !
Floor 10 Johnny, I think I really needed to hear that part about 2k 2d SMF. Also, damn if getting the 66FRC jH after the tk SMF mixup isn't hard as hell. That's the one tech I really need to practice more, because I just can't do it in a real match.

do 21478 then press S after a short delay. The input buffer recognizes the 214 input even if its immediately followed by a jump. Once you've left the ground press S and you should begin doing SMF as soon as possible. Depending on the combo you may have to do 2148 or 2149 instead.
Uwa, thanks for your tutorial. I supposed it is the best johnny tutorial right now. And I learned alot from it. Recently, I was struggle on 6H combo. The most biggest issue is not sure when is the right time to use them. It feels like they relys on the position a lot and I am not sure how to memorize them and use them. Will there be any tutorials about that in the future?
Awesome guide helps me understand the character better. As a personal thing, what controller do you play with? I'm currently using leverless and I really struggle to do the TK SMF inputs consistently. Is this just a skill issue on my part or do you think its harder on leverless?
Hi uwa very nice guide, but i would love if you talked about the fact that after a vault prc smf, you have to time to setup another card, giving you 2 50/50s for 50 meter. I think this tech is the most broken thing johnny has, considering he has access to it even midscreen after a good prc vault
Hey mergo, I didn’t talk about it as I personally think it’s too difficult and inconsistent if you don’t do an FRC, and even then the spacings to jail backdash or reversals is pretty tight
