Northern California wildfire explodes in size, arson suspect arrested

- The Park Fire, which broke out Wednesday afternoon near Chico, California, exploded in size overnight. It grew to more than 71,000 acres by Thursday, making it California's largest wildfire so far this year. A suspect has been arrested on suspicion of starting the blaze. Jonathan Vigliotti reports from Chico.

I'm a survivor from the Camp fire in 2018. This hurts my heart
I am posting this on couple places. His name is Ronnie Dean Stout of Chico Ca. He is a registered sex offender and he pushed his car into a ditch while it was on fire and ran off!

Damage control people will reply to you saying it’s totally normal for dry foliage to be untouched whilst cars are melted right mere feet away.

I feel sorry for all the people that have to deal wifh forest fires. It barely rains in California.
It rains here plenty. Just not in summer. In fact, the more it rains in winter, the worse the fire danger the next season. Lots of new growth, which drys out by summer. Then we have yahoos like this guy who sets a fire.

About time they arrested someone on these. The pattern is so similar to the 1970's and 80's when there was a serial arsonist. He turned out to be a Fire Investigator for the Glendale Fire Department.

Park California Fire. I've looked at over 25 news sites trying to find a single one which says what make and model of car, which was already burning, was pushed off the road into a gully. Could it be an EV or Hybrid with Lithium battery used as power source in it? Those are dangerous for the battery catching on fire. Why is nobody reporting exactly HOW the car began burning when still on the roadway? Does anyone know?

This fire grew to 70,000 acres in less than 24 hours! That is not normal!
Fires average speed is around 14 mph give or take depending on lots of things
70k acre is around 109 sq miles

Well the area it’s traveling atm last had its underbrush control burned in the 60’s. It’s dry and perfect tender… but again when the camp fire burned down the city of paradise just next to this fire, we said “control burn is necessary” and Cali’s government was like “nah that’s not it.”

This fire grew in size in the same way the 2018 Carr Fire did and made it's own weather which became a fire tornado. I just watch a time-lapse video of the fire and you can see the smoke start to twist and build speed before taking off.
It's over 120,000 acres now. This is where I grew up and I am so sad to see this.

I heardforestry services have cut back on properly caring for forests to where these fires would not be as bad. Why,no funding? Off to research
