Article 370 never helped the people of j&k. Moreover it helped politicians and for terrorism. A good 90% of the media is absolutely faking normalcy in kashmir. There is no normalcy. It took me 6 hours to get to the aiport. The actual route time from my place is around 40 minutes. No one's allowed to come out. Every form of communication has been cut down. What sort of democracy is this? There is unparalleled anger in Kashmir right now. Let them lift the curfew and you'll see how bad the situation truly is.

And more importantly, at the time of partition, Kashmir acceded to India under SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES. Article 370 was the very basis of this accession. It was said that once the war was over, the Army would leave. But even after the insurgents were defeated and the issue had been dealt with, the Army never left. What the Article was in recent times was only a shadow of what it was originally supposed to be. And now, there's nothing. You want the basic truth? Here it is Kashmiri's always wanted a seperate state. India just didn't have the moral capacity to ever give Kashmiris a chance at that. National interest prevailed over what was right. Maybe that is what works for you and a lot of other so called Nationalists/Bhakhts. But that doesn't mean it's right. So, if you think removing the article will help Kashmir. Think again. PM Nehru and the Union of India guaranteed a plebiscite to the people of Kashmir. That never happened. The army was supposedly brought in only to fight the Pak Insurgents at the time. It was said that once the war was over, the Army would leave. But even after the insurgents were defeated and the issue had been dealt with, the Army never left. And thus India gained military control over the region. The Autonomy of the state was then slowly taken away bit by bit. What the Article was in recent times was only a shadow of what it was originally supposed to be. And now, there's nothing.
You want the basic truth? Here it is Kashmiri's always wanted a seperate state. India just didn't have the moral capacity to ever give Kashmiris a chance at that. National interest prevailed over what was right. Maybe that is what works for you and a lot of other so called Nationalists/Bhakhts. But that doesn't mean it's right.
So, if you think removing the article will help Kashmir. Think again. It may help India. But there's no good in it for us. And when we voice that, what's going to stop us? Bullets? Pellets? Bombs, maybe? Well, you can try.
