Puyo Puyo 4 (Dreamcast) Gameplay - Arle VS Rulue

Just wanted to show some of the gameplay from the Dreamcast version. The graphics are in higher resolution, but that's about it. Not sure about the music; the emulator wouldn't play the music, so I inserted it myself with Windows Movie Maker XD.

The Arle Shield seems really broken. One of the main ideas with Puyo Puyo is that you want to destroy the opponent with a combo, but you must also be ready to quickly set one off earlier than intended to defends against their combo. With Arle Shield, you don't have to worry about the opponent disrupting your combo with an early one, you can safely build up for your larger combo as long as you get it done within those extra 15 seconds.

I think the Dreamcast version is my favorite as they have the puyo clears have special animations based on the character you have. I think thats a Dreamcast only thing, and if I’m right I think its a very cool touch similar to Puyo Puyo Sun.

Shooting Star nah the game is dreadfully slow so they speeded it up

Everything moves too fast except the Puyos. Look at how Rulue's idle animation, the attack animation and the firework which displayed when Arle won. This seems to be a turbo setting. The only reason the Puyos don't move too fast is because they normally move too slow in Puyo Puyo n, so speeding them up sets them to a decent speed.
In short, either the Puyos move sluggishly or everything else moves too fast.

@@dusaprukiyathan1613 it is a special mode. Regularly it would be like usual, but some story fights have special drop properties, like the final battle where the garbage will only start dropping after a certain amount of chains
