Also, I've got a reading suggestion to make here: -I'm reading a fanfic in which the most recent arc has a demon who wishes to overthrow Muzan manipulate Nezuko and Zenitsu into believing he's on their side. But here's what's interesting. He's genuinely interested in Nezuko's merciful side. He believes Muzan is unfit to rule demon kind, and he thinks if he can understand what separates her from the rest of the demons, he can replicate, maybe even recruit her, and take over. Now, she met Tamayo first, it's true, but she thought of her as a human. This new villain however was still, at the eyes of Nezuko, a demon. An ally, but a demon none the less, as he did not have that caring aura. Something tells me staying a demon won't sound so bad for Nezuko anymore. I would actually like to see her have that kind of inner conflict. Maybe even have a fallout with Tanjiro because of that, as she believes it would be better if the two of them turned and defeated Muzan, in order to live in a world in which demons are no longer monsters. I mean, the girl could use a character arc. The name is "Tanya the Demon slayer".
When that moment from the manga in which Tanjiro is turned to a demon happens, I'm going to pay VERY attention to EVERY detail of his demoniac scenes. Why ? Well, quoting a little Mark Jefferson, people filled with innocence and purity are the some of the most beautiful creatures in the world (though I've got to admit the Spider family and the moon demon brothers had their own kind of unique beauties). But in the moment their innocence evolves into corruption, something inside of them awakens and grows. And dang it, do they put on a good show ! But, of course there's always the risk they let the corruption turn them ugly. Nezuko already had her innocence turned into corruption. And she performed flawlessly. There were so many angles she exposed beautifully. I wonder what kind of angles Tanjiro's going to expose. And if his corruption can add to his beauty.

You know what would love watching happening ? Do you know that scene from "Harry Potter" in which Voldemort almost fully possessed him by taking advantage of his guilt, anger and self-hatred in order to have him push Dumbledore to put an end to it all ? Or that scene in which Nezuko appeared in Tanjiro's dream to tell him he shouldn't blame himself, because she still needs him ? I wouldn't mind an episode in which Nezuko, now that she remembers her whole family is gone while she was (in a manner of speaking) spared for God knows what reason, would feel tempted to put an end to it all by staying up until the sunrise, with a dying demon actually using his/her powers to trap her in a possessive episode meant to amplify that wish to the extreme, only for her to have a scene similar to that of Harry's, which ends with her seeing the demon's memories as she resists the temptation, discovering that in his/her human life, the demon actually tried to go to the other side, feeling like a burden, completely reliant on everybody and unable to make it in the world, accepting to be turned, as the demon finally felt he could at least fulfill a purpose (or at least feel alive by having fun) before being killed by the demon slayers, and Nezuko, sympathising with the demon, hugs the projection of the humanity left in him/her, telling the demon she's going to find the balance between love and independance the dying being felt unable to do so.
I kinda wished the two of them had an arc in which they had to get along better. I don't mean they would be fighting all the time. I mean they didn't interact much with each other. Why ? Because in my version of the story, Nezuko would have been a demon since birth, prefering to spend most of her time alone in the wild (though the younger siblings, especially the youngest, also liked to be around her in the woods sometimes), and Tanjiro, although loving her, would also be a bit afraid of her, spending the least time with the girl.
I am obessessed with "Youjo Senki" to the point in which I try to relate it to anything else I like. "Demon Slayer" is no different. Well, there is one difference. I choose to relate these two throught a fanfic scenario. It goes like this. Tanya has a mission in her own version of Japan. It appears someone or something is manipulating the country to go to war. Problem is, it is rumored to be unnatural. A division of Japan's government asked especifically for Tanya's squad to investigate this conspiracy, that in return, they might consider join the Empire as allies in the war effort in order to balance the scales on the upcoming world war. What Tanya didn't realize however, is that the people manipulating the country are actually demons and demons'worshipers. Worse, the people who contacted the Empire belong actually to a cult that worshipes Being X, who tricked them into believing Tanya was actually a demon who existed outside Japan. Being X's goal was to have Tanya confront Tanjiro. The motivation for Tanjiro to try to kill Tanya ? Well, first of all, when he smells her, he does notice something isn't right with her. Second, Tanya discovers Nezuko is a demon, and after hearing of how she defeated a demon with superior powers during an insanity moment, she informs the HQ of this, and they come to the conclusion she must be a demon in development (they would only know about demons throught scarce and damaged history and folklore sources) and order her to destroy the girl before she becomes a problem in the future, since she might develop during the war.
