    I can't highlight enough, the importance of protecting your knees! I wish id listened to all those that repeatedly told me so! Now my knees are shot to pieces and I can't even prey for a miracle!

      I would agree, I'm the only one who uses knee pads that I work withand I'm also the youngest at 23. Figure it's smart to listen to people who are older than I am about it, they aren't saying there knees are bad for fun.

    I've been doing this with the Lidl work trouser, I just have closed cell foam sheets in the knee pad pockets, and they just go through the wash as one. Can't imagine doing work without these now.

  • @coop_coop007
    @coop_coop007 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

    Two pairs from Lidl lasted four years of fair use, knee pads changed after two years. Thirty quid a pair or so. With knee pads. Cordura material. Snickers were great but the material does wear under heavy use quite quickly.

  • @robertszynal4745
    @robertszynal4745 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

    I wear "short" size trousers (Grandad was a jockey) and I actually find that they don't reposition the kneepad higher on them, they simply shorten the end of the legs. This results in my knees being right at the top of the pad so I have to hitch the trousers up when I'm kneeling. I have the type where you put the pads in the velcro pocket but I doubt they've changed their design approach for these ones.

    • @MarkUKInsects
      @MarkUKInsects 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Me too, short legs and the knee pads are too low. Hopefully Snickers have sorted that?

    • @joytotheworld9109
      @joytotheworld9109 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I wonder if they do that over the full range or only on the shorter length legs?
      If they have the pads the same distance from the beltline you'd find the extra longs would have the pads well up on their thighs. They should be close to the middle, ya know, 'rund about knee height!

    i am just a diy guy i do everything my self from plumbing interior to exterior laying slabs for patio and walkways (which i did one over the weekend and my knees was killing me from kneeling in the sand) laying laminate to repairing cars etc etc the list goes on i do this for myself and most of the family i have some knee pads in my work gear draw but looking at these trousers i like the idea as everything i do involves kneeling and as you get older it gets more of a pain however looking at the price for a diyer they are well out of my range, i showed them to my nephew who is in a trade and he agreed they are worth it if your using them 5-6 days a week as a trades man/woman but not for the average guy.

    its an interesting option but i have never taken my knee pads out for washing. each trouser i have has a set of kneepads in them. they take a day longer to fully dry but what harm is that . i have several pairs so can give them plenty of time. years ago i used to get caught short when taking them out and forgetting to put them back in.

  • @gingerelvis

    Water on the knee aint fun! Look after your knees kids. My knees are shagged from a youth spent skateboarding so jobs on my knees pads are well worth it. The only issue is Iike to work in shorts through the warmer months and the velcro strap ones move around and make you sweat. My motorcyle hear has D3O pads fitted and its amazing stuff, much less bulky and more flexible than traditional foam.

    Big fan of Snickers stuff and have been since around the 90's and even persauded the "electricity board" I originally worked for to use them as they just last for ages. I've never had and issue with not having the knee pads in them as they come out for washing and then go back in once they are dry and put away with the pads in so they are always there. Be interesting to see how these fair.

    What are the knee pads made of. I think they will hold water and take ages to dry out properly after the wash. I used to use the floor layers knee pads and I had left them in once or twice by mistake when I washed them, and when I took them out of the washing machine they were like a sponge.
