    That was great. Thank you. QUESTION - I was going to make a grappling dummy, but thought it would be sufficient to pass some cable / rope / or elasticized cord through the pipes - do you think that tying the pipers together is necessary?

    Great video, however all I want to drill are takedowns so I'll use your method here for just the head, neck, shoulders, arms anf forearms, stick the whole thing to a Gi, and put it on a heavy bag. I think this way I can get used to taking down heavy opponent, while getting into the habit of using their upper limbs.

    do the limbs stay where you bend them or do they return to being strait?

    Hi. I have followed your video all the way but I am a bit confused about the feet placement. Does the cable have to go all the way to the PVC elbows? Also do you just connect the elbow to the foot PVC piece directly?
    Thanks again for the video. Ill show you guys the finished product when I am finished with the foot part

    • @BJJProject
      @BJJProject  9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Daniel Sanchez Hello, I'm glad to hear that! The cable doesn't need to go all the way down to the PVC elbows (feet) because they are solid thus won't affect in any way since the cable is to make it a little bit bend-resistant. Yeah I simply connected the elbow foot PVC piece directly since I don't really need the feet to bend. If you need any other advice just ask for it! Cheers, good luck :)

      What about the heel hooks, toe holds, and ankle locks?!? I ran it all the way through to treat it like a real foot and added the holes but on each side of the end to limit its mobility worked awesome...thanks for the knowledge and the push to make it bro

    Amazing dummy! Do you have any tipps on how to stabilize it in a standing position?

    • @BJJProject
      @BJJProject  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi! I have some ideas, never tried them since I don't need it though. The most reliable thing I could think of, is attaching 2 ropes from somewhere (the ceiling?) and hook them into Dummy's armpits. You know what I mean?

    • @Fulphilment
      @Fulphilment 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      BJJ Project
      Yeah, that's a possibility, although I can't drill into the ceiling in my appartment. That's more something for a private garage.

      BJJ Project what is the size of the pvc pipes you use? I bought 1 1/2 inch in diameter.

    • @BJJProject
      @BJJProject  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I used 2 inch diameter pipes for better durability. 1 1/2 I guess that should do it too.

    • @spacemonkey1776
      @spacemonkey1776 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I used 2in but ran low so used some 3 1/4 for the forearms turned out great. Thanks for the idea. Beats the hell out of $300.

    how did you attach the cables at the ends? at the joints with duct tape i see, but are the ends left loose?
    im using 1.5" pvc pipe as well doing this. so far about $100 in home depot and hobby lobby parts.

    • @BJJProject
      @BJJProject  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +MBN Hi, the cable-ends are left loose, yes. Since the only requirement for them is to not slip away. I'd love to see the end result!

    • @willwittbold2765
      @willwittbold2765 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +BJJ Project so a few notes:
      1. make sure the rope knots are extra large. after some training and limb pulling, a leg fell off because the knot slipped through the hole
      2. after duct taping pillows and old t-shirts, a guy at my academy suggested pool noodles- would've been way better i think. plus at the target near me, the huge ones are $4 each.
      3. there are no locking joints- when drilling, limbs flail. be careful
      4. feet on mine are too big and will be trimmed. head to be added with pillow.
      5. in all, about $80-90 bucks between home depot and hobby lobby, an old tshirt per limb, and an old gi.

      Congratulations, enjoy always having someone to try stuff on! 😃👍

    How heavy did this end up being? also does it work alright for throws?

    • @BJJProject
      @BJJProject  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, it weights around 20kg. It could work for throws, although I'm not certain it would last long. Plus you have to keep him standing which isn't easy while practicing. Ideal for grappling. Cheers!

    I'm not sure but do u think u could use zip ties instead or rope?

    • @BJJProject
      @BJJProject  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! You could. I'd probably use a few per hole though. I can only picture zip ties breaking way earlier than the ropes. If you can, go for the lastly mentioned since they work wonders. Then tell me if it worked! Cheers

      It cost me around US$40 - 50. It really depends on where you live, and which materials you use, but you can have an idea with those numbers! And it's totally do'able for less.
