I don't think it's right to "fix" this. A Night To Remember is a good film of the Titanic disaster even though it didn't show the ship breaking apart like James Cameron's movie did. All with the benefit of the ship having been found in two pieces in the meantime.
In real life it was the 1st one only that collapsed onto the bridge and washed Lightoller and other swimmers clear. Cameron’s 1997 version reflects this - in fact, Jack’s buddy Fabrizio is one of the unfortunate people crushed under it as he tries to swim clear.

Once the keel tore through completely, the stern fell backward, then slowly filling lower decks, came forward until erect, and slowly flooded under the weight of ocean filling it. Incapable of remaining buoyant, the stern followed the bow into a two and a half mile fall, imploding not long after submergence. In your version, I was awaiting the Loc Ness monster to appear and pull her under. Sorry, but NOT GOOD.

It is not "fixing", it is more of a version I wanted to see. More like a "what if" on if ANTR had a break-up scene and accounted for testimonies.
Don't criticize this movie, it's The best Titanic film ever!!!!!

Notice how in the wide angle shots of the ship sinking the ship is always empty, no people moving on it. Was good for the 1950s tho.
