Those companies have existing land to provide plenty of oil/gas. The land that the leases defaulted for were because those companies were holding onto the land, but not actually using it for anything. And they had NO intention of doing so. Any time you have to use land like that to drill, you have to file permits..none were filed. The oil companies were just sitting on and wasting that land. All of these companies had enough gas pre-covid..why do they SUDDENLY not have enough? And they've made enough profit over the years...why should they pass this cost on to you? The answer is simple. See the thing is as a geologist that has been in the oilfield I can speak a bit on this subject. We have so many untapped potential resource plays that we wouldn't need to depend on a global market. We say screw that and bring the market here. Stop importing and start the rigs again! bring the refineries back on line! I work in the largest refinery complex in the U.S. in Baytown, TX. It's incredible what we have to refine now. If this so called president is going to import Venezuelan oil it's gonna drive the cost of plastics and gasoline and jet fuel even higher, as their oil is real dirty and raw and takes a LOT of processes to clean it for use. It's some of the dirtiest in the world and so is Saudi and Iranian oil. Texas crude is the sweetest and easiest to refine anywhere in the world, but we're not allowed to drill anything, even in the Gulf.This administration is intentionally destroying the economy, especially when truckers can't afford diesel, and manufacturers can't afford to build anything without the tremendos power from diesel generators. I have no idea how this woman got the position she has, because she is clearly ignorant on anything that has to do with energy.

Can someone ask why gas was so cheap in 2018 and 2019 when the economy was booming, we had a great demand at that time because people were traveling for vacations and we had to biggest workforce participation in our history. Just last week U.S. Interior Dept.officals cancelled an oil & gas lease sale in Alaska, citing a lack of interest in leasing in the area. This is all by design. They claim not to know, but we know they know. People who steal never help the people they have stolen from.

We say screw that and bring the market here. Stop importing and start the rigs again! bring the refineries back on line! If anyone out there is stupid enough to think lithium batteries that cant be properly disposed of are the answer then they are with ignorant of unintelligent. We need a viable replacement, but we don't have that replacement yet. So where is the logic in getting rid of what we already have before we are ready to transition? I work in the largest refinery complex in the U.S. in Baytown, TX. It's incredible what we have to refine now. If this so called president is going to import Venezuelan oil it's gonna drive the cost of plastics and gasoline and jet fuel even higher, as their oil is real dirty and raw and takes a LOT of processes to clean it for use. It's some of the dirtiest in the world and so is Saudi and Iranian oil. Texas crude is the sweetest and easiest to refine anywhere in the world, but we're not allowed to drill anything, even in the Gulf.This administration is intentionally destroying the economy, especially when truckers can't afford diesel, and manufacturers can't afford to build anything without the tremendos power from diesel generators. I have no idea how this woman got the position she has, because she is clearly ignorant on anything that has to do with energy.

Biden is not responsible for the gas prices.
Can someone ask why gas was so cheap in 2018 and 2019 when the economy was booming, we had a great demand at that time because people were traveling for vacations and we had to biggest workforce participation in our history. Demand had to be high then, so this excuse about demand after covid does not cut it.
