Helldivers 2 matchmaking has been busted since the game released and despite the developers putting out hotfixes players are still receiving the Helldivers 2 failed to join game lobby error pop up so in this video we're going through how to fix failed to join game lobby Helldivers 2.
More problems may present themselves once you're past the Helldivers 2 matchmaking error but it's not a guarantee so this is currently the best chance you have of playing Helldivers 2 co-op and hopefully the developers can put out full fixes for the issues soon.

The devs have said if you search for a match on a planet instead of quickplay you might have a better chance of joining others. They're still working on sorting out matchmaking especially quickplay but it might take a few more days
That’s true for me at least. The only way I’ve gotten into any coop, is by picking a planet 1st thing and look for a party.
Edit: The SOS has NEVER worked for me either…

Arrowhead REALLY needs to get ahead of this cause its seems like a fun game but not being able to matchmake or getting kicked back to orbit after launching a mission is very bad
guys try to change your city and its index, also i changed everything to english language and it helped me

One thing that is absolutely essential for such game is matchmaking. They ll be losing player base if they don't fix it soon... Stupid errors happening during matchmaking, such as cancellations, disconnections even if you find a game.
They should've done a beta for this to test the servers. Big mistake for me that they didn't as it's a live service game and most if not all live service games do. So come launch day they know what fix to implement

To be fair I think they didn't expect the game to get this big
they had no idea what a fire ass game they had on their hands, 140,000 players at a time screwed with their flimsy system.
Helldivers 1 player base was around 5,000 to now there like 200,000+
Honestly we can't blame them too harshly for not expecting this game to blow up like it did.

I’m on ps5 and matchmaking isn’t working at all for me. I’ve literally played this game by myself since release. Quick play doesn’t work at all. No one joins SOS beacon. But weirdly enough, two randoms appeared on my ship out of nowhere and then they said “oh sorry” and left. Just absolutely strange

Great game, but what an absolute pain in the ass. You pay money for a product and days later it’s still unworkable
Lol i got stuck in the wall of my teammates ship but next mission i joined we were able to play until i had to go handle some stuff.
same thing just happened to me, AFTER THE UPDATE. I was looking for a second objective and couldn’t find the icon ( it was on in my options) and the thrid part of the mission , the objective PHYSICALLY was there
Almost 2 days in and I couldn't make it work not a single time. I don't know why I insist buying games on launch full price...
It's sad it's better if you buy a game months after release then on launch

@@leiflarsson273 No...not really, your concept is like going to a burger joint and getting a burger for five dollars less and instead of being able to eat it all you can do is stare at it, eventually when you can eat it the burger will be cold and overcooked. People pay money to use a service and when they can't use it obviously we are going to be upset. 40 dollars or 70 dollars...your shit should work.
@@leiflarsson273 I don't mind eventual issues, but completely not being able to use some service I bought is frustrating. If there was a refund policy for Playstation I'd have already done it. I guess I have to wait it be sorted out and try again.

As of today 3/2/24 still broken. I can play 4 or 5 missions without any issues. But shortly after I can’t join anyone or I’m stuck in the the pod forever descending. This sucks because this game is a lot of fun. The only fix I’ve found is to delete and reinstall smh
Turn off ipv6 in network settings, that fix it for me.
Helldivers 1 had an amazing drop in drop out system they need to bring that back
90% failed matchmaking, 9% teammates timing out, 1% fun

I sat here and tried to join any match I could for 30 minutes and nothing. I’ll try again tomorrow but sheesh man. Guess I’ll play this next month when a patch comes out. Or just solo grind and help people complete missions when I become the tip of the spear of LIBERTY BABY WHOOOO!!!

@@maitrenibyat5225 no I finally got on, but when I got on I had to disconnect the cross play for me to find a quick match. Even at that the server is still weak sometimes and it will lag out. Fun game but server seems pretty bad

Managed to complete a mission with strategems callouts are wrong 50% of the time, is it a bug or hazard?
Latest patch made it worse. I joined group, got stuck in the pod on the ship, then fell through the ship. People are dying the moment they land on a planet, and I just had a critical error and game closed near the end of an annoying defense mission

Not worth playing unless you got a squad, quickly play just straight up not working. Constant crashes when in squad. It’s fun but not enough to keep the playerbase it has at the moment

Managed to get some co-op games in, but here's the thing though, I join faster than I can start my own damn games (Co-op, roughly takes the usual time, my game starts? Solo or not, we're looking at 4-6 minutes of buffering. How does that make sense?)

Yo peeps anyone else getting the strategen bug ? ... I just hit level 5 and I go to upgrade my airstrikes and the whole menu says locked 🔒 and there's no option to even look at all the airstrikes at all ? It's like they don't exist ? Anyone else got this and how do we fix it ?

I've had crossplay on and been using quickplay for the last few days, it still has like a 1% chance to get me into a match
That very same mission froze out on us and we only had 1 charger spawn lol

I’m on PC with 1k mbps of internet speed and while I don’t have issues finding matches, I do have issues being randomly disconnected towards the end of a mission. It’s every other game and incredibly frustrating.
I boot the game and it goes directly to the time counter and doesnt let me into the game at all
My friend got the game on playstation yesterday and his matchmaking doesn’t work at all. It doesn’t even try to matchmake it just immediately fails. He tried doing both the sos work around and the quickplay spam and neither worked. He also tried turning off crossplay and it still didn’t work. For some reason it’s like his account is invisible. I can send him a friend request but when he accepts it never updates it from the pending friend requests section, and if he sends me a friend request it just never comes through. He was supposed to already be in my social tab because we are playstation friends, but he doesn’t show up. I show up in his, but he doesn’t show up in mine.

Got a new issue now, wont connect to servers. Cant see anyone else on the map and when i use to connect it would error and i would turn off crossplay. But now hes just forever searching for an sos beacon

Honestly companies should get fined for releasing only online games that are broken on launch when it comes to servers, watch something like that be implemented and suddenly game servers would work on launch
Mine was working fine all day, me and friend were joining matches with slim to none issues. Full parties of four also.
I find the best way to fix the game is to do the classic thing of turning it off and on again. Also to note I find if you’re sitting idle in your ship too long it can also make the error start to happen more often.
Bro this is fucking sad like you make a game cored around coop but ppl can’t even find a game I try to quick play and sit there for 5 minutes like it’s no possible way this is going on

And playing solo is fucking annoying the running is already clunky which makes it hard to get away when swarmed which I wouldn’t have a problem with if it was easier to get other players or just shit have Ai drop in if no one shows up

weird because I have a friend who is on PC and online works for him. but at the same time it seems like there is a good portion of people who are having the same problem I’m having. I tried to play with some friends but it would always say connection error. Even though online works for any other game.

I love playing "Helldiver 1" as you are only 1 and that is how liberation and freedom feels like.
For me it says that nobody is even playing the game I've played abt 15 games and nobody joined I tried quick play but 2hs later still searching is anyone else having this problem I'd so how do you fix it I want to go back to playing with people instead of myself
Matchmaking is an issue, but constant disconnects are another issue I'm plagued with on their game. I have no issue playing any other game with friends. Just this one.
I'm beyond pissed. It's my own fault though. I thought those issues were just on PC and I was way too hyped for this game.

I am not able to launch the game , its really frustrating at this point.
It's difficult to describe but you have to fill up ALL the perks slots. There are 4 and if you have less than 4 you can ready up no problem. If you have 4 or more you must assign 4 or it will not let you ready up!!...I figured this out but took me a while.
I didn't realize you can assign 2 of the same color perk(s) to your loadout. Otherwise I''ve had minimal connection issues. The game is awesome
They should've add dodging 😢 and i also wished they added auto reload and also wished that the character would just keep running after you dolphin dive when youre getimg jump at least make him stop when the stamina has been depleted kinda annoying melee weapons would've also been nice cos u really cant do nun when youre being jumped

I am still having issues. this far in after an update. it broke my matchmaking. everyone else in the game seems to be fine and no one will help me fix the issue. I was randomly banned from the official discord I don't know why. so, I'm stuck trying to figure this out. to be honest I'm just trying to get my money worth out of gameplay at this point then stop playing. if I would have known this was going to happen, I would never have bought this game

A month later and I can still hardly play multiplayer..in a multiplayer game. I'm getting done with this game real quick, haven't been able to have a proper gaming session in a over a week and it's getting worse. Lol I'm on PS5 I just have to wait for updates and turn off Crossplay. This fuckin sucks

Also having to use Discord to play with others online? Who thought that one up? It's 2024, not 2002 FFS. Even then that doesnt work, I cannot accept friend requests or join groups.
Start your own mission and wait for people to join it takes no time I find it quicker and no crossplay the severs are a mess.
It worked once for me and man it was so fucking fun with a full squad but since I cant find a game im so disappointed
Coop still does not work for me, even after the patch.
Its not just matchmaking, people keep getting timed out, I get timedout. Hopefully they address this soon soon.

If you start and land a mission (solo) then use a beacon, exit right after you place a beacon (return to ship)
Now return to same mission and it should load people Into your game

Disabling crossplay doesn't work all the time. And spamming quickplay is just tiring. They really need to fix this.
It's still not working - we have to wait till increase server capacity which will take a bit of time - it's not as easy as flipping a switch
third day into the game and i haven't been able to experience co-op😢..update-its finally working, just have to keep trying with the mini map with the earth highlighted
Same here. I got to play a couple matches yesterday eventually, but then got into another bug where it won't compute the XP and rewards even with the mission being successful. What a mess of release. Anyway, I had such a great time with the first helldivers that I am willing to wait for it to be fixed and retry.

Not able to join any match. Took me 15 mins to join a match, played for 2 mins and got booted to main menu.
i've also had a mission trigger fail, where i'm clearly in the same place as the Big Bad, according to the minimap, but it never appears. or some other kind of thing.
from outside the actual code, they seem like simple kinds of problems to solve. i sure hope they solve them, making this one of the greatest multiplayer games i ever played
I hope they can solve them quick, I believe they should have ran betas and stuff to deal with these issues before launch but hopefully with player feedback they can sort them out now

It’s NOT even given me the option to join random players on my game & I’ve got Crossplay on bud!
I’ve even done like U had said by turning Crossplay off & resetting my game & System & still nothing bud!

Delete the game.dll file on pc. It works 100% then repair via steam. Join again and you are free to go.
Also turning of crossplay helps a lot. Hope they fix the other bugs like
- Cant get into drop ship
- Unable to use main weapon (this one is very annoying)
- Drop ship gets crashed when a teammate lands on it with its capsule
- Low enemy spawnrate on highest difficulty
- Cant call in other teammates when dead
Maybe a game def sees this. This needs to be fixed ASAP

Its kinda a massive fail to not put enough work into the sequel's network when the first game was a massive commercial success.
Its like they expected everyone to just be like "oh helldivers 2? Cool." And not play it all at the same time the second it comes out especially since people still played helldivers religiously
