Whitney gave us the POP version of that song. In truth Clive Davis created Whitney's entire sound otherwise that song would have sounded entirely different had Whitney her way.

You better believe it, she was being REAL humble when it came to Elton. She essentially took care of him when he didn't have food to eat she fed him. I read that in an interview she did back in the 90's so that reaction you saw her make with regard to Elton making it over her was indeed real😳

I was at Boy George's art show in Monaco! Boy was hilarious and so gracious to everyone. Prince Albert and Princess Charlene also showed up and were a lot of fun. Boy's artwork is amazing!

David Foster and Houston used Linda Ronstadt's 1975 recording of IWALY, the arrangement is stolen completely from that recording, they just played with the melody line. The only thing that had to be really worked on is that when Dolly found out they were using Linda's recording for theirs. She called David to give him the final verse, which Linda did not use in her recording. So David who had add another 45 seconds to the arrangement to accommodate the final verse. The song is was also not written about a romantic love, it was written as an ode to mentor song for Porter Wagner. So in the essence of the song, is not the even the same. In the movie the Bodyguard it is used as a romantic love song.

Love them both since I was 5 years old and had that Apollo Anniversary on VHS (and both of their separate concerts!). She's the greatest female vocalist of all time, and Boy George wrote one of the greatest rock musicals of all time, Taboo. I love when I read George's book many years ago, and he talked so highly of Patti from 1985!

Wonderful to see that the Legend Ball brought Diana Ross & Patti LaBelle together and buddies, I wished that Gladys Knight would get over her hate towards Diana Ross. These women are strong and beautiful women, I love that you never hear from Diana Ross of her dislikes or disdain for other artists or to whom she's encountered in her successful career, speaking of which is still going strong (point in case) the recent announcement that she would perform in London the concerts sold out in 34 minutes, they added two additional shows for her 2020 tour. Diana Ross had four back-to-back #1 Dance Club songs on the Billboard charts and through it, all Diana Ross has remained true to her self of LOVE, FUN & POSITIVE ENERGY All those other artists have gone on or disappeared but one thing is true DIANA ROSS is here for us and we're here for her.
