    Very cool review! Just found out about the Schecter basses, love the Omen and Hellraiser, such clear guitars. Those Fishman P/U are the bomb. Great value for the money. You rock Dave!👍

      Thankfully it's pretty easy to get approved for a Sweetwater card. It's completely affordable on a 24 month no interest payment plan. Just don't miss a payment or you'll get hit with all the interest. I'm on the fence if I want this or the C-4 GT

    Schecter are just such a creative and dynamic company. Everything ive owned from them has been quality, great construction and even their high end is within the limits of affordability in todays bass market. I will need to try one of these Evil Twin basses out. Thank you for the review.

    I have this bass since 2021 and i love it. It was a major step-up from the cheap bass i had when i fist began. I'm still a bit unused to it being active (as it eats my 9v batteries) but its a small trade off for the sound and feel, two things i do recommend is to get rechargeable batteries and a padded strap that's comfy as the bass is a bit heavy

    Hey @daveporterband any way you could demo that in a video thru a fuzz pedal. Honestly I think it would be great for every bass guitar demo video to have a small segment where you play thru a fuzz that way we can tell if it dooms or not. Thx

    I'm stuck between this and the Stilleto Studio, wondering if it's worth the extra ~$500? I know I love an ebony fretboard but idk how the rest compares exaxtly

    • @DavePorterBand
      @DavePorterBand  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, the Stilleto is sale right now for $1k. Big difference to me is the mahogany body and the EMG pickups. Otherwise, really similar specs. I like an ebony fretboard over a rosewood but not sure there’s a huge difference in tone but the Fishman pickups offer more variety. Tough choice!!

      I just picked up a used Stelleto Stage-4 but it had paint chipped off that the GC of course didnt show in their picks of the used item. Ended up returning it yesterday. Thing sounded amazing too, and it's a discontinued model so one can't just go buy it new sadly. I've been looking at gettting an Extreme, Stealth, or Studio. I just with the Studio had the same inlays as the Extreme.

    Just curious does the Satin black paint leave permanent finger prints like the matte black does on some of their bases?

    Dave I have a dilemma can't decide between this bass and the apocalypse C5 wanting a bass that cuts through the mix in live and Studio setting clear note definition well-balanced bass, not Neck heavy. I have heard from both sides of the aisle that the apocalypse has a better bottom end. where the fishmans are cold harsh and sterile what one would you choose and why. would you consider doing a shootout between the two bases for a cool new video I bet there'd be a lot of people interested in this? thanks in advance and by the way great Channel I just subscribed and will keep watching!! BTW by the way I play Death Metal black metal and classical music

    • @DavePorterBand
      @DavePorterBand  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Tony, thanks for the comment and for subscribing! I have Fishman pickups in a couple basses and guitars and I don't really consider them to be cold/harsh but I also don't think they have the coloration or character of other more boutique pickups. That can be good and bad depending on your tone preference but I think they've got a ton of bottom end and super glassy and clear top end. As far as the Apocalypse... I don't think Schecter is making that bass anymore so you might want to grab one while you can! Besides the pickups, the other big difference is the Apocalypse has a 34" set neck rather than the 35" neck thru on the SLS. Apocalypse pickups are also switchable from series, parallel to single coil like a Stingray. That's a really cool option and series should provide some huge bottom end. Good luck!

    TONE WOOD DOESN'T MATTER WITH ELECTRIC INSTRUMENTS.
    YOU CAN BUILD A GUITAR OUT OF CONCRETE AND IT WOULDN'T SOUND ANY DIFFERENT.
    Tone wood only matters with accoustic guitars.
    God damn.
    Use your brain!

    • @DavePorterBand
      @DavePorterBand  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Plenty of players have proven they DO matter. Honestly, if tone wood didn’t matter, manufacturers would use cheap plastic to produce guitars wouldn’t they? Why waste the money? You know why they don’t? Because tone wood makes a difference.
