It amazes me the number of dudes who tell on themselves with glib “no money, no honey” comments, or some variation within. I worked at a Thai company and dated lots of middle class, or upper-middle class, university-educated women in Bangkok. No one asked me for money, or wanted me to support their families. Lots of men are simply unwilling to do what it takes to move beyond foreign ghettos and seek out higher quality partners. Maybe they don’t have the qualities needed to find higher quality partners. Because a middle class girl isn’t interested in an overweight alcoholic old enough to be her dad. Dudes wouldn’t go to a brothel outside of Vegas or the Red Light district in Amsterdam and seek relationships with sex workers. So why do they do it in Thailand, and then draw broad conclusions about Thai society based off of those interactions? So often people criticizing Thai society are really just relaying their own poor lifestyle choices.

Ironically, this issue highlights the socio-economic position of both the girl as well as her man. A girl with a proper job and education is more likely to be able to earn her own money and from a family that doesn't need such support, but also, she is more likely to partner with a better quality, more flush foreigner! But its trouble in paradise with those foreigners who are trying to survive on the pension from home at 40k baht a month taking on a girlfriend who is 20 years younger and is literally an economic immigrant from Issan (yes, she left home, often told you're pretty enough to go to Pattaya/Bangkok/Phuket etc. and make money from foreigners!). What could possibly go wrong?!!!

Thanks Pete for the video and thanks Ying for explaining all her experiences. Long distance relationships are not easy, that's why I am not confident in them except if there is a common long term plan for staying together. I delt with the money issue, by pondering how much, my thai girlfriend needed each month....and after that, no many problems. She has passed away. I am still supporting one of her two sons..now he is adult, I give just enough he can survive. No more because he has to learn how to win some by himself. My style worked fined ...other people can do differently, always remember you have choices, ... choose wisely.
Ying, you are a great ambassador for your country. It was a pleasure meeting you and hearing your story, I think a lot of foreign visitors would greatly benefit from watching your interview, so thank you Ying, and all the very best for you in the future.
This discussion always should be done way prior to marriage along with learning about other expectations. I would suggest to find out early in dating any Thai woman how much she sends home monthly to her family and use that as a rough benchmark. if the man loves the woman and can afford to help his future wife then it's up to him - either accept or reject. If the woman is asking for an absurd amount % wise above what she provided prior to marriage then that's a clear sign she's a gold digger and it's not love. Lastly, if the woman works or has worked in the nightlife industry I would not consider marrying her as the probabilities of failure and heartbreak goes exponential 📈....the odds are already stacked against you so no need to make it worse.
Many guys still date or marry a bar girl/FL (even with the countless horror stories out there) guys either don’t see the vids or they do but think (my situation is different, she really loves me) the happy stories are very rare. Don’t date them, your wallet and mental state will thank you.

Never give money. And i guess why its hard to keep a relationship for me...... originally i gave out a bit every month. 10 000 to 12 000 baht to the gf to stay at family home when i worked in canada, and only 4000 baht a month when i was in Thailand living with her. Relationship Lasted 3 years. After that i stopped giving money out...i fully supported the girls but not the family. No relationship lasts more than 1.5 years with 3 other girls since. Overall i think im done with Thailand for a while. Been a crazy 12 years but now im going somewhere else.
Realize that women all over the world, due to evolutionary programming, desire men to make some kind of investment. If you give nothing, you better be smoking hot and loyal.
Great video Pete, when dating a girl there is a lot of difference compared to our cultures. I personally think if you are dating a thai girl or living here you should learn the language or attempt to. Hope everything is well in Dublin ☘️

You can support your family in everyway possible sweetheart, but not with my money, and most forgein dudes feel the same. 3 years in Thailand single life, fully embracing the "pump n Dump" way of life, and never been happier.
I am married to my thai wife for almost two years now. I did not pay any sinsod, i never supported her family and i never got asker to do so by my wife. Not sure why this needs to be done by certain people. It causes unnecessary stress.
So true; no bar girls. I’m dating a girl from Up Country in BKK. She’s never asked for money. I offer to buy her a dress, shoes, jewelry. Hard, but small town girl, “No”. She will not take anything. I kinda think it’s the Buddhism. The middle path? Or is it just how she was brought up. She does have a good work ethic. Just her personality. Just don’t know for sure.
Isaan and the rest of Thailand have really different cultures… The whole idea of supporting the lady and her family doesn’t exist for modern Bangkok women.
Same culture bro it's Thailand. In Asia family is everything so understand that first and foremost. Poor family will need help by food or money is the support. Rich isaan or Bangkok Thais don't need your money but you better not be poor or stingy towards the family and they need you to be there at every event, drive a Benz or BMW, daughter is happy, and let it be known that you have money and a large dowry this is your support.
Older and younger successful men who are fit and have there life together don't want 30 yo plus broke girl from anywhere Love many, trust few and protect your stack at all times boys and girls. Its a jungle out there.
Ima be honest the reality is if a man is not financially stable he will lose his wife eventually. The best option is to find a woman where she can also make money and where you don’t need to support people you don’t really know.
It's only the social under class that asks for money. Indeed, the middle and upper class won't ask for money. So it is not so much culturally driven buy social class driven.
The schools she is referring to, the ones that accept students for after-school instruction, are sometimes called cram-schools. In Chinese, we call them BuXiBan... To BuXi means to review and study and reinforce what one has previously learned. The BuXiBans in Taiwan, China, and Japan, and Korea, too, put much pressure on students. Of course, if one is just studying English after school, at a good English-language school, such as, maybe, CMU....then fine!
@@YuChiGongG I think she was taking about a tuitor, many rich Thai people higher them to help their kids after school or weekends. Like you mentioned to cram for tests. You often see students with them in food courts in malls.

the emphasis on relationships, thai girlfriends, dating is so blown out of proportion but i guess that is a big reason a high % are in thailand. i see ying's channel is also trying to capitalize on the fascination with thai women.
It’s tricky because in most cases a lot of women asking for money are gonna be on the take especially if you meet them in a tourist area, however it doesn’t mean that if you’re supporting a woman financially it can’t be love also it’s a tricky one , just set your boundaries before you get into relationship I would say and go with your gut 👍🇨🇷
Thairish, I would love to give you a tell all of my first time in Thailand, everything you could almost think of happened to me in Patong. I’d like to give people my advice and experience so they avoid all the mistakes I did. How do I message you?
It’s the same as a charity, you can support by giving your time and effort, it doesn’t necessarily need to mean money. But “supporting” in Thailand usually always boils down to money as the lowest common denominator.
14:29 ... that is right: 600,- B a month. Imagine you would have to survive on that o whole month long!!! Although the parents of my Thai-wife receive a pension of only a few hundret Bath per month, I was never asked for any support in five yeas. Her brother works in Israel on a farm and her sister works as secretary and they supprt the parents. In Thailand family is everything and that is good that way. Take a close look on the whole family before starting a serious relationship. Avoid the greedy ones. Happy wife, lucky wife
She loves me and I love her , she cares about me and I care about her so her problem is mine and my problems are hers and I have the money to do so. So why not???
There's a misconception in Thailand that in the West we don't support our parents. We do support through our taxes and the government administers disbursement though Social Security programs in most countries. This is better in my opinion because you're not giving your children the burden and payment is legally guaranteed.
I guess though in western world for example if say we had an Irish wife and your wife's sister for example had huge accident and they needed specialised surgery we would pay too...or money for a funeral ....I know a strange example but if a Thai wifes family needed help surely we should/ would help without question.....? Off course I mean emergency not monthly payments !!
Agree. In Ireland it would be unknown not to help other side of family out if badly stuck. So why would that not be the same in Asia ! But Thailand is top heavy with old farangs divorced or single living on the scrapings of tin and for sure won't be helping anyone out !!
It's always about the money because why would a good looking lady want to do with frang who lost his looks in his 20s. Also most men can accept and are willing to pay for a relationship with younger thai lady. Its not for me but if they want that , let them get on with it. Good luck they will need it.
Wasn't this the Ying on Jonny Somethings happening channel? I think it was a story about how much he spent on her. The American dude was spending about 30-40k bart per month on her.
I wouldn’t spend 30 or 40 baht on her.. One failed relationship. It’s just going to keep on going until she hits the wall. I go on Thai dating sites and get hundreds of messages from old Thai women (35 to 55) with kids looking for a guy. I’d prefer to eat broken glass.
I help my Thai wife`s family financially, but it`s not because they in some way tricked me into it. I help them because they helped me when my wife and I needed help and so I help them back now. There is no sponging involved.
A very simple solution is to date only ones that don't have their family as burden, and are well off (uno reverse card). I'm not going to get into a long term relationship in my home country either with someone who thinks that their spouse should fix their financial problems. Cultural understanding works both ways.
My Thai wife’s father… after the crash of 2006 his business went. He was selling spectacles. His reason for not working was….. I don’t want to work for anyone else. 😡 So, my wife and her brother decided to give them money every month. Bad move on their behalf. What about them? My wife is still giving money. He retired at 46 years old. 😡😡😡😡😡 I don’t like them, they could work but don’t want to. Surprise, getting money for free. This is Thailand. I’m not giving them fa.

When 6 guys are supporting her family unbeknown to each other
If they think you are a buffaloe, you will be taken for a ride. A foreginer will never be treated like a thai.
You think Thai men never get taken advantage of by Thai women?
@@mythai05 They do, but at least they enjoy the best and hottest ones while it lasts, lol. 😂 I've seen some Westerners get completely taken for a ride by Thai women that no local man would ever go near. 😂

It was a pleasure meeting you and hearing your story, I think a lot of foreign visitors would greatly benefit from watching your interview, so thank you Ying, and all the very best for you in the future.
nonsense.
Don’t EVER marry.
Play them at their game.
Many guys still date or marry a bar girl/FL (even with the countless horror stories out there) guys either don’t see the vids or they do but think (my situation is different, she really loves me) the happy stories are very rare. Don’t date them, your wallet and mental state will thank you.
What sane man would even consider getting married these days … 😂
the crude truth is NO MONEY no funny !!
Western girls the same, yet, once they are sick of you, they take it all !
It's not crude. Try being older and average looking and offering nothing else anywhere else in the world. No funny then either.
No. You will never be able to meet the demand
Correct. It's like being blackmailed.
Once you pay then it never ends.
This is an opinion from an educated modern thai girl its totally different mentality from 90% of the general thai street girls

the big wake-up call for the passport bros: the realization that, in exchange for getting a lady way out of your league, your job is to serve as the ATM machine for her and her family forever until the end of time. there's a price for everything

Ying is a very smart attractive young lady who is very open minded to new things and very goal oriented. She is also very pretty w a beautiful smile. I would love to find a Thai lady like Ying.. Her parents should be proud.
Money talks. period!

Have the woman and family pay you. It isn’t rocket science
Not all Thais support their parents and family, never dated a Thai who has asked for money, hmm but i never dated a Bar girl either
it has nothing to do with just bar girls
So true; no bar girls. I’m dating a girl from Up Country in BKK. She’s never asked for money. I offer to buy her a dress, shoes, jewelry. Hard, but small town girl, “No”. She will not take anything. I kinda think it’s the Buddhism. The middle path? Or is it just how she was brought up. She does have a good work ethic. Just her personality. Just don’t know for sure.
Stop being simps, guys. Man up.
Isaan and the rest of Thailand have really different cultures…
The whole idea of supporting the lady and her family doesn’t exist for modern Bangkok women.
I’m pretty sure it does.

Good luck getting a mid or upper class as they don’t want westerners ..

@@glenloader639 She seems to be talking about "cram schools". She probably worked as a teacher in one of the many cram schools that can be found in Taiwan, Japan, Korea, China, Hong Kong, and...yes.... Thailand. (Should we ask her?)

the emphasis on relationships, thai girlfriends, dating is so blown out of proportion but i guess that is a big reason a high % are in thailand. i see ying's channel is also trying to capitalize on the fascination with thai women.

It’s the same as a charity, you can support by giving your time and effort, it doesn’t necessarily need to mean money. But “supporting” in Thailand usually always boils down to money as the lowest common denominator.

Very soon buddy
Should a guy support any woman ??? Same deal everywhere. Relationships are a transaction.
That happens with Filipino families too.
If you think that you dont have to support your spouses family when marrying a woman from Isaan, especially a poor woman, then you are delusional.
Based
14:29 ... that is right: 600,- B a month.
You sound very green lol
😂😂😂 just your turn
She is not convincing she is better to stay working and she can focus later always two sides to a story
There's a misconception in Thailand that in the West we don't support our parents. We do support through our taxes and the government administers disbursement though Social Security programs in most countries. This is better in my opinion because you're not giving your children the burden and payment is legally guaranteed.
Would you financially support your wife's family in the U.S., UK, etc.? If no, why would you do it in Thailand?
I guess though in western world for example if say we had an Irish wife and your wife's sister for example had huge accident and they needed specialised surgery we would pay too...or money for a funeral ....I know a strange example but if a Thai wifes family needed help surely we should/ would help without question.....? Off course I mean emergency not monthly payments !!
people seem to get a liitle too immeresed in thai analysis VS just good actions in a relationship?
Agree. In Ireland it would be unknown not to help other side of family out if badly stuck. So why would that not be the same in Asia ! But Thailand is top heavy with old farangs divorced or single living on the scrapings of tin and for sure won't be helping anyone out !!
Some of these emergencies are fabricated to get money from the foreigner
It's always about the money because why would a good looking lady want to do with frang who lost his looks in his 20s. Also most men can accept and are willing to pay for a relationship with younger thai lady. Its not for me but if they want that , let them get on with it. Good luck they will need it.

You should have asked her what her family actually does

A very simple solution is to date only ones that don't have their family as burden, and are well off (uno reverse card). I'm not going to get into a long term relationship in my home country either with someone who thinks that their spouse should fix their financial problems. Cultural understanding works both ways.
