First of all petroleum companies should stop producing more plastic. There should be complete ban on its production and hence pushing more plastic into consumer cycle will stop.

In a place like Mumbai, I feel there should be separate bins installed at all railway stations were people can drop plastic packets and bottles. I am sure a lot of working people like me will find this v v convenient. Also many will come forward for this noble cause after watching other commuters do so.

Great initiative Anuj sir, but make the process easier for consumers because it will become a routine task to courier them with a cost .So people would do it for once or twice and then again give it to the local garbage collectors to save their hardwork, time and money. Because then ultimately we humans are comfortable following old traditions.

    • @advocaterishitamall
      @advocaterishitamall 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

@@manojadarsh4752 Even for things not bought on a daily basis, here's the scenario- Mama Earth recycles/refills provided you courier their bottles back to them.... Although they claim to be a plastic positive company, we all know that people don't have a tendency to do that... Hardly anyone couriers back... Plum provides pick-up service.. But how many people can buy from Plastic Positive brands ??
Coming to milk which is bought on a daily basis- these are 5 Crore packets a day..... It's very easy to demand pick-up system, but it will not be viable, unless a Start-up takes this up as an opportunity... Or, Shops may be pick-up points but it might become budensome for them... Easier for individuals to do what they can because Administration knows what they need to do, yet they won't.. We need a better waste management system... More recycling facilities, logistics.... The start-ups or Companies can then take the waste to them/ their own recycling facility...
No need to make every Company which sells in plastic packs a party and engage into litigation... There will be 100s of companies... If you want a direction against them, they'ill have to be made parties... On the other hand, if SC/HC has to tell every basic to the administration, then there will be no division between judiciary & executive.. NGT can also issue orders, but the same problem of having multiple parties...
Going to Court for this might give you an order in your favour, but not practical.... Do your bit, and push the administration to atleast do this basic...

I remember, when I was kids. They used to give milk in glass jar. We can bring this back in trend. You take the glass jar, return the empty jar next. Cycle goes on.
Besides, if we buy from dairy, we can take our own container if they sell loose milk.
I think better than recycling, we can use the above methods.

couple of times when I was going or coming back after a travel from Mumbai airport early morning around 4 am or so, ive seen people tampering with these kind of milk packets. 2-3 people gather at the roadside BMC water supply key holes and add the contaminated water into these packets after removing some milk out. the removed milk is then sold loose to dairies and the milk packets are again sealed with candles. they make a tiny hole and use a needle less syringe to remove milk and add water to it. after sealing it with candle nobody can make out it was ever opened. since then Ive never ever used packet milk. I use only tetrapack milk or yogurt tubs. and anyways Ive reduced the use of dairy to just 1 cup of tea in recent times and have switched to home made Vegan yogurt. which is far more healthier.

That's what is required. Picking up from the doorstep. Very few will remember to take the empty packets to other locations. They don't even remember/ care enough to take cloth bags instead of using plastic bags. The empty milk packets need to be collected from homes. This way some poor people will get jobs, and the habit of conserving the packets instead of throwing them in the dustbin will be formed.

And this not includes the land where they are living know now how meat and milk cause water wastage An estimated 55 percent of the freshwater supply in the U.S. goes to raising animals for food. Growing an enormous amount of crops to feed to farmed animals, providing them with drinking water, and cleaning massive, filthy farms and slaughterhouses are grossly inefficient when compared to eating plant-based diets. Each day, humans worldwide drink an estimated 5.2 billion gallons of water. Cows drink roughly eight and a half times that amount in a day-45 billion gallons. You need 477 gallons of water to produce 1 pound of eggs, 900 gallons for 1 pound of cheese, and 1,000 gallons to get a single gallon of cow’s milk. 1pound = 0.453592kg i hope u got ur answers i explained in short it will still be better if u search on google for more detail

You are very right. I am dealing with plastics everyday because I am into Printing of Plastic packaging materials.
And think for such solution all the time. But tell me one thing. You or anyone being a normal user will do this to wash the Milk bag every day with liters of water being used ( India has too much scarcity of water) ? Keep them hygienic and return them to the recylers without any benefits?
I am in support with you because I myself do all the possible hard work by reusing plastics to its maximum capacity. But the issue still remains until no further benefit to the user.
Also process of making recycled plastic granuels is more costly than using the Virgin Plastic granules. If this is resolved by any means then whole cycle will be automatically fall into places. But you are perfectly right and I agree with you too.....trying my best to do something for the same.

I suggest that there should be a plastic station for every locality, where all kinds of plastics can be collected from the citizens those who want to help the environment. Plastics collected in the stations can be classified into usable, reusable, recyclable. In this way lots of plastics will not end up in the landfills.

@@raziyaazmath4569 so it is bro it brings co2 emissions and global warming do u know how it affects our nature and human beings and yes it is suffering for them thats obvious. almost every food cause global greenhouse gas emissions but mil and meat rank higher than any other crops also other source and other food are mostly used for the cattles and animals which population is raised forcefully that so in numbers is it takes up to 10 pounds of grain to produce just 1 pound of meat, and in the United States alone, 56 million acres of land are used to grow feed for animals, while only 4 million acres are producing plants for humans to eat. 1pound = 0.453592kg i hope u got ur answers i explained in short it will still be better if u search on google for more detail and watch documentary film seaspiracy 🙏🏾

However, for sending milk packets the recycling firm should explore options for paying the parcel/postal charges after receiving the items by the recycling firm so that people may follow and collect the milk packets and send .
