  • This video series demonstrates my complete process for sculpting and texturing a model of a Rainbow Scarab Beetle (Phanaeus Vindex). I use ZBrush, Maya, Substance Painter and Octane. In part 10 I demonstrate my techniques for baking textures in Substance.

    OUTSTANDING WORK!
    I just want to say THANK YOU for doing this series.
    It has helped me a lot in my own development and learning of insects and bringing them alive in 3D.
    Just one question.
    I would like to compose insects into real footage and was wondering which renderer you feel delivers the best result? Redshift/Octane/Arnold?
    Also, could you perhaps do a rigging demonstration at some point? Your Peacock Jumping spider is amazing!
