Dude, you forgot why Trample + Deathtouch is so good! You only need to deal 1 damage to the blocking creature to have the damage trample over because Deathtouch says any amount of damage is lethal! C'mon, man! XD
Ohh I thought something weird happened there. I think I needed to assign the damage differently. Thats what my goal was going into that attack, just executed it wrong.
Yee. On that note, wouldn't mind seeing you try a deck with that in mind at some point. Y'know, giving a commander with DT Trample, or vice versa. Be pretty cool to see you mess around with.
I think a large part of your issue is just missing some needed cards. Ingot Chewer, Crater Hellion, Stalking Vengeance, Hangarback Walker, Inferno Titan, Radha, Ruric Thar, etc. I think you neglected the much needed Red aspects for board control. It’d still be a silly deck but many Gruul generals want similar things so use em!
I think that the best way to build Nikya is to add in some small early game ramp spells ( Cultivate and Skyshroud claim) to help accelerate instead of going all creature spell. Great video 👍
You can add these removal on a stick creatures: Flametongue Lavu, Duplicant, Kraul Harpooner, Territorial Allosaur... I'm sure you can find more. Those a are the ones I remember right now.

So one card that I think is really solid in Nikya that will also allow you to get non-creature spells into play is Temur Sabertooth. With it and Nikya on the battlefield, just tap your mana (doubled) then bounce her with Sabertooth, drop a non-creature spell and then re-play her. It's a bit clunky, but it would allow you to play a small package of non-creature spells like Sarkhan's Unsealing, Warstorm Surge, Elemental Bond/Colossal Majesty, etc. Sabertooth also provides a layer of protection from removal.
Reminds me somewhat of building my Karn, Silver Golem deck back in 2008/9, a lot of trial and error... There were only non-basic colorless lands and only artifacts for colorless cards. Was a lot of fun though once I got things tuned. Best thing was an instant speed mycosynth lattice in response to something that destroys all artifacts, lol.

1:39 Furnace Dragon wouldn't work under the bridge because it needs to be cast from the hand to have effect. It's a strange effect, but you know what's also strange about it? Affinity for Artifacts and Shatterstorm on the same card.
I'm not sure what the budget is for you, but if you're looking for removal on a stick I would recommend the following: Duplicant (surprised it's not already in there), both Ulamogs, Whiptongue Hydra, Flametongue Kavu, Wolf of Devil's Breach, Mage-Ring Responder (a bit questionable, but works with a lot of mana).
Right gonna add those guys in and bring the curve down some. Want to try this again with those changes. Think it might perform decently with those. I was so excited by being able to play all creatures that I immediately went to a lot of pet creatures that always get cut, instead of the tried and true stuff.
I think Nikya should be cast when you have 8~9 lands in play, so you can cast at least a spell. Running more 2~4 mana ramp creature or spells will pretty much smooth her out tbh, you can still cast you big creature when you dont have her out.
Thats not a terrible idea. Would probably work better if was running some number of non creatures. Also just depends on what its hand. Ill keep in mind when I run it back.

Restrictions breed creativity! You're running Hammer Mage, so why not some other Spellshapers like Latulla, Keldon Overseer, or my girl Jaya Ballard, Task Mage? There's also some other great mana sinks out there like Kamahl, Fist of Krosa, Captivating Crew, Ant Queen, and Kumano, Master Yamabushi. As far as removal for other permanents, you could go with stuff like Nullmage Shepherd, Meteor Golem, or Mold Shambler, just to name a few. Don't forget creature-only mana dorks like Beastcaller Savant, Somberwald Sage and Shaman of Forgotten Ways, to help ramp. It also felt like you were pinched on mana a lot, so Vizier of the Menagerie would also be a good inclusion (better than Garruk's Horde, in my opinion). Bloodbraid Elf seems like a great inclusion, since it adds some extra power to the board. Sylvan Safekeeper could help Nikya survive that crucial first pass around the table. Oh! And Dualcaster Mage would be a spicy way to get around Nikya's no-cast clause, since you're only COPYING the spell, not casting it. So yeah, I hope you keep this deck around, and don't be afraid to tinker with it.
Hey great suggestions. I had actually eyed doing a spell shaper deck a while back, haven't made any serious moves toward building it though. Have it on the back burner for now. I like the dual caster suggestion, gets around the spell clause as you say, and effectively gives me a spell but is still a creature. Im going to be tinkering with the deck quite a bit since I think it can be a lot better than it was is currently. A lot of the creatures especially at the upper end of the curve, are just pet creatures that I've been wanting to use for a long time. Im probably gonna be running this again in the next week with some updates. So we'll see what I have room for and what doesn't make the cut.
Im going to add a couple. Ive never been a huge fan of dorks since they get swept away in board wipes so easily but I think this is the deck that needs them.

If you want to make the deck more efficient add more mana dorks and more x mana creatures there is a Green Hydra from M19 that Nikya loves also Eldrazis are extremely helpful the ones with annihilator 2. Use Beast whisper and Soul of the harvest. My friends in my play group get overwhelmed by the fact that the deck is built on the idea of Storm. I have gone from 1 cards in hand on turn 6, to a full hand going into turn 8, and turn 7 I went to 18 all the cards I discarded were lands I’m not gonna lie rather playing a slow deck spamming works a lot more also if you play worst creatures people ignore Nikya because they tend to want to get rid of the 57/57 Hydra that is giving trample or the goblin that started as a 2/1 and ended as a 8,192/1 with trample I’m not even joking this actually happened and no one thought that that goblin was so strong
Definitely would not look at Nikya as a hard lock on non creature especially with how often she’ll be a kill on sight card. Although if you want to go the full creature route Magus of Candelabra and cards like Krosan Restorer I would recommend over civic wayfinder and sylvan ranger for better synergy with the commander and actually accelerate mana, also as others have said more utility creatures like Orcish Settlers and Hammer Mage.
Yeah pretty accurate. To behest though I didn't build this one the best, theres a lot of changes I can make to make it much better. Will be Xenagos good, probably not, but at least solid and able to offer a different play experience.
Dude, just add a few non-creature cards, not like you're allways gonna have the commander out (especially if your spells cost less than 5). Unless you don't want to for flavor reasons of course

I dont even think its the 3s that are that bad, its probably 6s and 7s that are clogging everything up. Good point though, maybe a mana dork or 2, though im not a huge fan of them.

Yeah I feel the trial and error part. Boros has been the same way. Im noticing that a deck like this is just always weak to removal though.

I added a few of these in the rework, more immediate types of creature removal with FTK and Duplicant.

My nikya deck is a high budget 33 lands 67 creatures build and it steam rolls, nikya is scary when left untouched.
Better results this time! Duplicant / Flametongue Kavu / Ravager Wurm / Kiki-Jiki / Inferno Titan / Crater Hellion / Silklash Spider to deal with creatures.

Yeah its not great! Thats the main issue with these all creature decks. Everything you do is sorcery speed and super linear and predictable.

You should run a vorinclex eldrazi deck with little elves as supplement
I’ve played enough eldrazi decks in the past that it’s sort of lost its allure. Also people get super salty when you lay down a vorinclex.
