I saw the advertisement for this Island(Auction) a couple of years ago. I am grinding it now. I was 13 or 14 years old when I first saw this island. Ever since then, I have fallen in love with it. Hopefully, in the near future, I will own it.
The big selling point is that it has an runway, the runway is big enough to handle a large private jet, the runway has its own international airport code (MYEY) . and you can do customs and immigration right there. So you can hop on your private jet in NY and 3 hours later step out on your very own private island without having to stop at a commercial airport to do immigration/customs, transfer to a smaller plane, and take another hour or 2 to fly to your island
360 islands make up the Bahamas and each and every one of them is surrounded by crystal clear and almost impossibly blue water. It looks like the ocean was filled with bottled water!! I have seen different oceans and seas around the world but the water in the Exumas is by far the clearest. Talk about “Bahama Blue”!
Blue Island: one of the few business-jet-ready private islands anywhere. If you are very wealthy, you have many choices, certainly- but owning a property like Blue Island is an experience that virtually no other UHNWI or celebrity will ever have. You see, Blue Island, in the Exumas, is the Bahamas' only private island with a Boeing 737-capable, one-mile-long-plus paved runway. Yes: She will land, and take-off for that matter, almost any private or commercial aircraft you've access to, with total ease. The list of her features is almost endless- but know that your private airport, with the 6BR main home, is complete and ready for you- and all 700 acres of beaches, hills, roads, infrastructure; all the rest, is there- waiting for your family. Who will be her next owner? I envy him or her: That person has likely already changed the world for the better, and now will have the signal honor of owning one of the best tropical private retreats in the world. Beyond all comparison at $120 million asking, reduced from $125 million.

You apparently didn't talk to the right people, gomer. And if you were planning on buying this beautiful island for the purpose of "developing" it, then I'm glad that you were unable to purchase it. It is a magnificent piece of island property that deserves to be left in the mostly natural state of beauty that it's in now.

How would you know the actual price of this island?

Lol if I had the money I would add a mini course and a guest house or two
That would require destroying a significant part of the natural beauty of this island. The world has plenty of golf courses already.

You don't want to built anything too expensive on a caribbean island... because of the hurricanes.
CAM - Branson has all the money in the world. His strongly built complex in the Bahamas was damn near totalled. Hurricanes are stronger than money.
Eugenie - if you had the money to buy the island and build what you want on it, you'd have the money to buy people (females?) to keep you company.
Jeff S Richard Branson’s island is in the British Virgin Islands, not the Bahamas.
The view from the main house, sitting high on a hill, is spectacular,
A Bahamian sandbar is not my idea of a durable investment come Hurricane season. I guess at this level it's just another expense.
100 feet above sea level, a coral-based island is not a sandbar. Sandbars are just off the island though...
Niceee
