Remote working is going to change the face of Detroit. Corporations are changing their work model, people are working from home all over, making very good money. These people will be coming to Detroit, to a vibrant up and coming city with a history.

These homes look really good. However, the developers must be thinking that LOTS of people with money are going to move to Detroit?

    New housing, low paying jobs.
    What could go wrong?🤷

You must be right, the developers are spending millions on these places with no one to live there. There is not a single job in the city the pays more than minimum wage, none.... There are plenty of high paying jobs in the city and metro area.

      @@Tyler-lh2cu Average Metro Detroit Suburban income= $64k
      Average Detroit resident income= $34k
That's the single largest income disparity in the US for suburbs to inner city ratio
Add up the worst public transportation system in America too .. Detroit better be mindful. Giving away massive tax breaks in the District is also killing off the tax funds to the schools.
Trickle down economics didn't work in the 80's, and not gonna work now. Until the economic situation is settled, this will just be a clean up project.
Gotta put $$ into working class families or this whole thing is just a giant tax funded gentrification project.
Love what's happening as a 30+ year resident, but sadly NOBODY is doing anything for the native Detroiters to address the economic disparity.
Frankly I feel the plan is to ship the lower income residents to the aging homes and failing schools Downriver and the surrounding "Slumburbs" and simply let the cost of living drive out the locals.
Hope I'm Wrong, but so far...not much being done to raise the income level of locals.🤷

@@johnpenley Would increasing taxes on suburban residents ameliorate the situation?

@@johnpenley Native Detroiters pushed out the productive ones. Now its their time to leave for Detroit to be good again. Its an iq thing.

@@rumplestiltskin951 Increasing taxes on suburban residents would be a function of suburban town, not Detroit and the extra money would only be used in that town and for that town. As an example, school taxes increased for that new school. etc.
