Strange to hear all Americans referencing 1964 as the start of their Beatles journey. Here in England, by 1964, they had already had five hit singles, including three No.1's, starting in 1962 with Love Me Do.
Hello Gentlemen, Thank you for this episode!! The set is absolutely Gorgeous!!! I hope it sounds INCREDIBLE!!!! this is a wonderful set and I really loved watching your joy with looking at each lp. Take care and ENJOY
I was 15 when "The Beatles hit the US. I gave away almost all my first generation "Beatles" LPs 1973 and replaced them with Apple-label "stereo" in 1973. Those I gave away were thoroughly worn.
If they wanted to go exact, they would've had the dead groove be the standard double characteristic, and a single lock groove. The '60's Capitol had a standard double dead groove, the second groove was the lock groove. The Beatles '65 initial glossy labelers had a single lock groove.
Good discussion, guys. The box set and entire package look beautiful. I am looking forward to hearing from you on the most important thing (at least to me 🙂) about this release: the audio. I will be curious as to how the sound compares to the 2004 and 2006 Capitol cd sets. Thanks guys for an informative and enjoyable presentation.
Cannot work out why they waited until this time of year to release it, maybe it should have been released half-way during the year, which would have made it sixty years after The Beatles broke the USA and before their first nationwide US Tour. Usually with releases like this, they do not come so close to solo reissues, so releasing a week after the reissue of Living In The Material World is odd.
Note to all from the admin: In general, all of you fans have made doing this show for these past 14+ years a lot of fun. As we have ALWAYS said, constructive criticism is always welcomed. Humorous, playful, teasing comments are always welcome. Obnoxious, harmful, personal or abusive digs and comments are not. We do this for the love of the music, and for the camaraderie. In our excitement to get this video done and get this info to you, certain video settings were not checked until it was too late. We were not happy about that, but our chase was to either give you a legitimate video or a 'simulated' re-shoot. As a result, the quality isn't what we wanted... but the content is. And guess what else (to someone who knows who they are)... I'm PROUD to be the age that I am, and to have the wisdom and knowledge that I have. As a professional lecturer and a podcaster, I am also proud to share it. YOU on the other hand, need to learn to keep your insulting comments to yourself and to grow up.
First press Meet the Beatles had a royal blue inner sleeve then switched to the sky blue sleeve early in '64. First pressings of Beatles'65 issued with rust colored inner sleeve.
@@sgtpepper7041 Meet and the Second Album had royal blues, then Something New thru '65 had the turquoise sleeves(what my initial Beatles '65 glossy labelers(orange red, olive green in colorband,gray/black background)(also rose red/standard green in colorband, glossy labelers were considered part of the first run,as well.) have as inner sleeves.
Enjoyed your unboxing session but before you start telling your viewers to buy these reissues because they will sound better than the original versions shouldn’t you listen to them first??? Had your heard them before commenting on the sound?
There is a video of the guy who cut each one of these and he explained the process and that he heard things he’s never heard before. But now that I’ve heard them, I stand by my statement. 😉
i love the new releases with refreshed mixes. but the origianl mono versions are the way they did it originally, and that mash of sound into a mono limiter is how its supposed to sound. i have both, and the mono versions just sound huge....
Great video guys. As a non vinyl guy, this was an easy “pass” for me, but I get the excitement. However, I will get the “Meet The Beatles” blue vinyl from Target.
I was lucky this past Sunday when I found a Mono original pressing of Beatles '65 for 8 bucks with no skips, very nice sound and just one scratch at the beginning (side one). The cover's beat, but I have another one - see if I find it. The Early Beatles - Nah, I never liked the format of it, leaving Misery and There's a Place off the track lineup. My two favorites on Please Please Me.
Watched the video. Enjoyed it. However, I wish the camera was in focus or 1080P so that we could see details. I think they cheaped out by not going with the cardboard sleeves with the paste on slicks. Look at tThe Beatles in MONO CD set. They created the one USA Cover using cardboard and paste on slicks. (Magical Mystery tour). I also am of the belief that when one makes a REPLICA, that it should be a replica in all ways. No adding extra text. They could us an OBI strip or sticker to show the current company info.
Thanks. We rushed to get the video done to share the excitement and the settings were off and we didn’t know. We were just as disappointed about the quality but we DO talk about the details. We appreciate you watching and your feedback.
Great video guys. I'm an Australian and was going to pass on this because I have 70's reissues of the US LP's as well as 3 monos but I'm now very tempted, if my bank balance would allow it lol. Great job. 👍😊
So I started to watch this video and I go man. This must be an old video look at the camera how it looks and I found out nine hours ago what what years the camera you’re using 1980 otherwise great video thanks. lol
Unfortunately in our excitement to bring the video to everyone, we rushed and our settings were off. We are disappointed but are happy with the content. We DO describe everything in detail so I hope that helps. Thanks for watching and your feedback.
The opinion usually was that the Parlophone releases sounded better than the Capitol records. Now, it seems this new set is not all analog? No thanks. I remember listening to the Parlophone stereo releases, which had digital in the production chain. The records sounded dead and flat. Covers and extras may be nice, but I'm only into vinyl for the sound, as long as its all analog.
We know. In our excitement to get the video done as soon as possible for everyone to enjoy, we didn’t check the settings of the video and didn’t find out until it was too late. But hopefully you enjoyed the content and thoroughness.
Hey guys,I really enjoyed the video, watched until the end as it took my mind off my problems.I've just managed to buy MTB,65 and EB individually so far because I simply couldn't afford the box here in the UK. I've got my father very ill in hospital and it's touch and go if he will survive or not and I don't drive so taxis there and back are expensive. I just can't afford more. And even those 3 I had to buy 1 the first week and the next 2 a couple weeks later. But tracking says MTB will be delivered between 8 and 2 tomorrow on release day but the other 2 haven't even been posted yet so don't know when they will be here. However I am going to try and at least enjoy MTB when it gets here tomorrow , but even that will be a challenge as I'm having work in the flat done with workmen due between the exact same hours to fix lights, put new heaters in and check windows. So even that will have to wait. Wow what a rigamarole to enjoy a new Beatles album, ha ha. But at least it's an album that I've never owned, as it's very hard to find in the UK , so at least it will be completely new to me. Just thank you for occupying my mind for an hour. With love from the UK.
The UK retail price for the new The Beatles 1964 US Albums In Mono box set is $250.60 (199.99 GBP), while we are being charged a lot more in the US, retailed here at $299.98. We are being overcharged here in the US! What a rip-off Apple/Universal! Shame on you all.
I’d rather buy 5 more color variations of McCartney lll than buy this extremely over priced nonsense. If it were half the price, I might be mildly interested.

@@Parlogram did you get the box set?
Moe, Larry and Shemp open a Beatles Box 😂
Well, I (Mitch) am losing my hair the most so I guess I am Curly. 😂
Hey, you swapped Shemp for Curly. I can’t grow that much hair.
Nyuck, nyuck, nyuck!
Thanks Guys!

Looking forward to these albums. Thanks guys!
Awesome job guys...great seeing you all together!
So nice to see you guys excited & highlite what's best about these releases as opposed to on-line where it feels like just complaints
The Early Beatles was the first one with the Teen Set sleeve.
I have "Beatles Story" with Apple labels with sides 1 and 4 on first disc and 2 and 3 on second disc.
I bought my copynin Barcelona, Spain this afternoon, the sound in near audiophile🎉🎉
Nice job guys!
I just checked. My Apple stereo copy of The Beatles Story has sides 1&4 and 2&3.

My Beatles '65 originals have the turquoise sleeves as well.
The inners on the Meet and Second Album originals are royal blue.Something New was the first turquoise

Very interesting discussions. Thanks. I would like a subsequent set not only for the Butcher album but because I like Beatles VI.
The cover art is the way it is because I believe they're using digital printing methods. UV ink won't fade either.
Just in case you missed it the box has a red white and blue color to represent the U.S version

The Something New is a fascilmile of the LA pressing with the Bert Co.company(LA) font print. The rest were copying the Scrantons, font wise.
Great detail. Thanks.

Keep the hype sticker, cut around the plastic and save it, put it in the box.
I was actually able to peel it perfectly from the shrink and I stuck it ON the box because I will never sell it. And it looks good.

You Have to Have Meet The Beatles in Stereo 😊...to get the full power of that Album 😊
How do you enter the giveaway contest ?
One only needs to open the opening through which the inner case slides in and out.
Kinda regretting not getting the box. I got them individually. The price of the box held me back from doing so
It’s not cheap. You really don’t need it and The Beatles Story for the extra $120. Yes, it’s nice but it’s the music that counts. Do not feel bad.
ditto ........will they each be sealed?
I didn't care much for Mitch, but looks like I was wrong about him and I'm not wrong very much.
I’m actually quite nice. 😊. Thanks for watching.

But what about their great music inside all of these albums?
Oh Yeah!!
When is Rubber Soul gonna be? any guesses?

With the belly band..
Some of us ordered the box to keep sealed and the individual albums to play. - Dave
The Beatles Srory? Really? I should be used to the idea by now, but it was still a bad one.
A bit of a weird aspect ratio in your film. The lp's you show here look like an A4 format :-)

I don't like that they're laminated like the British albums. Would prefer them being faithful to the original sleeves. Booo!
