      @@RW_CreativeMedia I'll be honest with you, we have some amatuer players here in Brazil that would have much more skills with the ball than some of these players, you guys really need to pick up some skills or develop your own {but it must work on a game} because this final game here made me bored as i never been before while watching a soccer game.

      Soccer is boring period. Hardly anything happens, the field is way too big, and the clock moves backwards, but I still find this more exciting than the premier league or whatever league they have in Brazil. I care about our leagues. We have a different way of developing talent here anyway, and I see it paying off. Amateurish? I don't know what game you were watching, but I saw some significant competition here.

      MLS is getting better, no doubt. What is keeping MLS be really competitive or the best league in the Americas is the salary cap. We are the only league in the Americas that has salary cap in place which limit how much a team can spend. It's good for parity in the MLS but not good when you compete against other leagues that have no such thing in place.

      @@oyaml1211 I think salary caps are good to help keep competition fair throughout all teams. There are small citiies that would not stand a chance if they had to compete against one or two teams with cash to spare. The league needs to grow first before it can relax some of the rules later. I for one wish salaries donxt get on the way of allowing fans yo buy tickets at reasonable prices.

      Maybe having the salary cap in place is a good thing at this point. If you look at how the things are in Spain, France, Portugal, Germany... It's basically 2 or 3 teams battling for the title, year after year. Everybody else is merely an extra for they don't have the big money to invest. After a while, it gets boring. That's one of the reasons I watch the MLS instead: it's much more levelled, and anyone can win.

    Can anyone explain to me why does atlanta united have a lot of fans?

    • @aethyr6776
      @aethyr6776 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I don't know if there really is a definitive answer to why. One reason is because they were winning. It's easy to draw fans when you win. A bit deeper is that Atlanta is something of a sleeper town when it comes to soccer. One thing some people didn't really consider when they were saying MLS wouldn't work in Atlanta was that Atlanta has a fairly significant immigrant population. Having been at many games, it is always awesome to see the diversity at their games. So Atlanta had a good potential basis of support from the start. They hired a coach that brought an attacking style that was fun to watch, even when they lost. For those first 2 years, it was something of a running gag to say "when Atlanta plays, someone is getting blown out. It might be Atlanta, it might be their opponent" because Atlanta tended to keep attacking, even to the point of leaving themselves open at the back.
      After Tata Martinez left (he was never going to stay more than a couple years, to be honest), we ended up hiring a coach who preferred a more deliberate style, and it hampered the team built for a different style. So things have been a bit more tempered the last couple of seasons.
      It doesn't hurt that Atlanta's stadium (built for both football and soccer) has a greater potential capacity than most (probably all) soccer-specific stadiums in the country. Even the "normal" capacity for soccer games of roughly 42K is greater than most of them, while for bigger games it can fit roughly 72K.
      I'm sure this isn't really a complete answer, but I hope it helps.

      The season starts in March and ends in December. It starts during mid season from all of the big leagues in Europe. In the MLS, there is two conferences, the East and the West. Every single team play 34 games in the regular season. (The regular season is where the teams play each other and get points, just like in European football). Each team plays 24 games against teams in the same confederation, and 10 games against teams in the opposite confederation. The team with the highest points in the whole league wins the Supporters Shield (this year it was New York Red Bulls with 71 points). The top 6 teams from each confederation advance to the post-season, also known as the playoffs. The third place from the Eastern confederation goes against the sixth place from the Eastern conference. The fourth place from the Eastern conference goes against the fifth place from the Eastern conference. The same applies to the Western conference. The third place goes against the sixth place, and the fourth place goes against the fifth place. This is known as the playoff round. It's played with only one match. The Conference semi-finals and the Conference finals will be two-legged (two matches). The first and second places from each confederation get a small advantage, though. They are automatically placed in their conference's semi-final. The winner from the 3rd-6th game goes against the second place of the confederation. The winner from the 4th-5th game goes against the first place of the table. Then the winners face each other in the Conference finals. The winners from each Conference finals get a nice trophy and advance to the MLS Cup, which is the big game.
      In Dutch: Het seizoen begint in maart en eindigt in december. Het begint halverwege het seizoen vanuit alle grote competities in Europa. In de MLS zijn er twee conferenties, het oosten en het westen. Elk team speelt 34 wedstrijden in het reguliere seizoen. (In het reguliere seizoen spelen de teams elkaar en krijgen ze punten, net als in het Europese voetbal). Elk team speelt 24 wedstrijden tegen teams in dezelfde confederatie en 10 wedstrijden tegen teams in de tegenovergestelde federatie. Het team met de hoogste punten in de hele divisie wint het Supporters Shield (dit jaar was het New York Red Bulls met 71 punten). De top 6 teams van elke confederatie gaan door naar het naseizoen, ook wel bekend als de play-offs. De derde plaats van de Oost-Confederatie druist in tegen de zesde plaats van de Oosterse conferentie. De vierde plaats van de Oosterse conferentie druist in tegen de vijfde plaats van de Oosterse conferentie. Hetzelfde geldt voor de westerse conferentie. De derde plaats gaat tegen de zesde plaats in, en de vierde plaats gaat tegen de vijfde plaats in. Dit staat bekend als de playoff-ronde. Het wordt gespeeld met slechts één wedstrijd. De halve finales van de conferentie en de finale van de conferentie zullen tweebenig zijn (twee wedstrijden). De eerste en tweede plaatsen van elke confederatie krijgen echter een klein voordeel. Ze worden automatisch in de halve finale van hun conferentie geplaatst. De winnaar van het 3e-6e spel gaat in tegen de tweede plaats van de confederatie. De winnaar van de 4e 5e wedstrijd gaat in tegen de eerste plaats van de confederatie. Dan staan de winnaars tegenover elkaar in de Conference-finale. De winnaars van elke Conference-finale krijgen een mooie trofee en gaan door naar de MLS Cup, de grote game.
