i did the same thing yesturday got to my spot very windy so tryed the flywoo as id seen nurks vid and it wasnt great but i could keep it in the air and under control nice vid dave
Thanks for the video - I was curious about the wind handling. Can you explain to me where to wire the plug for my naked go Pro? If you have a photo that would be great too
My rule of thumb has always been .. Top speed minus wind speed does that come out to 15mph or faster.. Some my small ones.. ill be at 45° angle at a hover haha 😄
@@DaveCFPV I ordered analog explorer. Oh didnt mean staying under 250. That takes 750 or 850 battery on analog. Just wondering can it fly.. I already have a 3s 3200mah li-ion pack. Going to try to order geprc 4s 3000mah version..
I had mine out in 15 to 25mph winds before a storm. Did fine. Just was slow getting out. But when I turned to come back it was doing 30mph pretty much level lmao. Been windy everytime I've been out except yesterday
Hi Dave just ordered my Flywoo explorer just wondering if there was any other reason than weight to put an XT30 on ...most of my battery’s are XT60 so thinking about swapping it out ... love your work Cheers Phil
Hey great video man, I watch to the end which brings me to a question. How do you get such good reception in your goggles. I have the E-MAXX buzz freestyle. I'm using fatshark Scout goggles and I have two of the same lollipop three antennas and I'm good for about three football fields, if I stay up high. Is there something you can suggest to help get longer fpv signal range ? Thank you for your time I just subbed up as well.👍👍
Looking at building your 5in frame just got my quote from the machine place you said to contact for the frame wondering if you have ever ran INAV on that LR or the 4in with the fly woo fc/esc/vtx stack and how it did or does?
Hello my name is Timothy. I was wondering if you can put up the cli dump files for the flywoo explorer lr analog I accidentally rebooted before I got the chance to save files been looking can't find it anywhere thank you
@@DaveCFPV you run a good channel. I'm just a small channel having fun. Until I was bullied or trolled.. by a group of fpv pilots. I tried to bring awareness to community.. so wouldn't happen again. .. but most don't care. Soon quitting you tube... but will always fly... love to fly..mind at peace for 5 mins.. would stay but was group of of us?? Fpv pilots?. Hope they don't do to someone else.. sucked.. have a great weekend!
Thanks for the video! I noticed you have the amp draw in the lower left corner I have the explorer lr with the caddx vista and don't have amp draw is that only for the analog version?
Previously exclusively flew lion with this quad, but it's not doing it justice. It flies about as bad in poor wind conditions as it does with perfect weather. Absolute opposite is true with lipo.
I recently crashed this qwad and immediately had terrible vtx reception. Like I can only fly about 200ft away before it goes out completely. I've triple checked the channel and power settings, and replaced the antenna. Anyone have suggestions? UPDATE: It was the antenna! replaced it and instantly better reception.
@@DaveCFPV well they are on vacation right now. I spoke to them sept 20th and said in a few days they will start the r9mm ones. So hoping when they get back it ships.
At some point that's cheating :) Using such a heavy battery, that weights more than the quad itself improves wind stability by a lot. Use next time a common size for this quad, like 4S 650, so that it's under 250g. It will behave way different in wind.
Well yea much less weight and it will blow quick.. get unstable.. I have that with my small ones.. they can easy come back thru head wind and hover in place.. but gust blow them over quick.. and they will wobble at times a lil
Thanks for your design man. Kind of what I was always looking for. Also if you comment on one of my flywoo explorer videos Ill be the envy of all my nerd friends. lol
Bug problem with TARSIER dvr version GPS don't working and Bug problem with dji nebula or vista hd version uart problem...why flywoo don't working for test flywoo explorer LR4 ? Why??? Sorry but not happy because one week working for truying resolve this ! And you don't answer serious message ...
Man was so hyped for this quad but you shouldn't have worked with Flywoo on this maybe...taking forever for the order and I see money people have the same problem. They seem to have a huge backlog and not enough resources to cover the orders unfortunately.
I bought the explorer as my first quad and it's great. You hit a home run with your design and now every company is scrambling to copy it.
Thank you!
You makes this drone looks incredible!
I have had no issues flying mine and heavy wind. I find it performs rather admirably.
For the Micro Long Range, I definitely prefer bi blades in stronger winds, for their reduced drag.

Hey dave can you provide a cli factory dump or diff for the analog version i cant seem to get my vtx to work on soft serial after upgrading betaflight
@Dave_C FPV 4:18 - 24A, is it max peak current or could be even more under certain circumstances ?
Nice you were getting blown around on hover. Looking forward to getting mine from flywoo.
Thanks for the info video. Im saving up to get it thanks to this video, cant wait. 👍🏼
Seems like a versatile quad! Is it possible to fly it on a 18650 pack with AUW less than 250g?
No unfortunately not the pack is 200g alone 😅
@@DaveCFPV can it fly the strix 3s 3200mah (advertised weight 167gr)?
Or needs 4S?
@@divingfalconfpv4602 you can run 4S but still that leaves only 83g for the quad. The analogue one is 136g

Even with all the wind it flies great! 😃
Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thank you!
Nice! Is there a plan for an iNav version (with compass and baro)?
No FC available I guess....
There is already an iNav target available for the F411 16x16
@@DaveCFPV probably needs FC with an extra Rx port, since inav don't support remapping
Dave_C FPV but there is neither gps not baro on the explorer right now for autonomous iNav (no point in iNav over BetaF without baro and compass)

Tha is Dave. Do you have schematics to build a 4s Li-ion pack for the Explorer?
You just connect the cells in series. No offense but if you need a schematic to do that I would suggest buying a finished pack

Would a 250 gram limit be much different? Many in the US bought the LR Micro for that gram limit.
The 2750kv motor is hard to come by. Would the 3750kv motor, or any 1404 motor, be a good replacement?
Hey I loved your fusion 360 tutorial please make one for 5" quad canopies!!!😙😙
How did you get current sensing working with the explorer?
Hi have you any links for setup of r9m reciever and taranis x lite r9m module lbt thanx
What about a 3" micro long range with a whoop aio and a decased vista - super low stack height freestyle frame ?
What FPV goggles are you using and how are they?

Yes the vista is using the current pad for softserial
3s Li-ion = 150g is ok flying analog version?
Are you flying in acro mode?
If so, that hover was very impressive.
Always Acro ✌🏻
Do you think that using the included stability arm braces will help out any during high wind flights?
I think I might always use them. Incase I go far and lose video and wreck.. a lil more strength for a few grams isn't bad trade off
I don't think so. Braces help with jello and motor vibration but this is something different
Dave_C FPV ok thanks for the reply

Black lines are usually wifi interruption, from what i gather
Could well be. There is a big hotel just a few metres away that for sure will have dozens of WiFi sources

do you market the Li-Ion packs?
you can buy ready to use Lion packs from Zohd or Geprc
