If a rifle has the same hitrate as a pistol at the same range, what's the point? The assault boost centric gameplay of AC6 is why I don't like its PvP and stick to singleplayer where weapons actually work as intended.

I bet even SMGs & attaché has the same hit-rate too because the only viable option was the SMGs than attaché cause might be due to attaché stats is way lower than the ARs too
AC6's issue is that things are too slow all around. Projectiles are too slow for long-ranged combat (even with latency), ACs are too slow due to wacky ass speed/weight curves, and the campaign gets really easy due to how slow and helpless so many enemies are.
Agreed. Rifles need like an all around buff. The dual etsujin or whatever pistols are pretty absurd. Also the way FCS is, long range weapons don’t even function at long range really. Even medium is sparse to none
I don’t think ducklett should be added to “absurd” category cause the performance of ducklett was way worst that it got nerfed (1.07.2) after the buff (1.07.1) like a quick succession updates FCS works differently if you notice on arena & story mode (replay ones too), it works the way intended for the weapons you’re trying to use so if you play against snail on arena, he will fire the VPM at you regardless of your build’s weight & same goes to other characters that uses the famous P05 & abbot so if we use the advantages of an FCS, it works way worse than they did where our shots won’t hit the mark which the probability is way less than zero as if the ACS strain build we do got wasted

This and the cutsence combos and stagger extensions. I’m a Curtis Harris enjoyer but in certain situations they feel a bit weak too. I hope the combat system gets an overhaul
It's funny how rifle kiting *is* common in high A rank and S rank promos, but once you *make* it to S rank, it's almost exclusively what you'd find among A rank players. What, you *don't* like getting pelted from 2500 meters by a missile boat? Or being helpless against a Lamm Kite? Or your build immediately being checked by any Heavy AC, especially Bornemissza? You don't like Double Zimm shield users? You DON'T like how the skill expression is diluted by a handful of meta builds? I appreciate the coop mod's online more than the actual online experience, which uses EAC. The fastest way to find a match is to go to Ranked Match and instantly finding a game, but it's *Ranked.* The casual alternative is custom lobbies, but you're likely to find more matches in Ranked. I hate Bandai Namco so much.
Honestly? The meta part of AC6 isn't the issue. I enjoy it fine enough, and I don't even play the top meta builds. The issue is latency and how so many things are too slow to be viable.

I'm S rank multiple seasons, I don't get to S with Meta and I beat or go toe to toe with all the top S ranks using 0 meta. Two things about this video, either A, you got extremely unlucky and by extremely I mean extremely to not hit once, or your fcs was trash as well as possible recoil depending on arm combo, those arms I cannot remember if they recoil with that set up but if they do its not the guns fault and its your set up is bad. If its not the arms and there is 0 recoil then you legit got unlucky if your face isn't trash. I can say this as someone who uses rifles often, my rifles always hit, sure they don't do crazy damage but I'm never missing 30 shots without a single knick, also you could have did this thing called got closer if you was missing that bad. I'm not even talking smack, I literally never miss that much with rifles and I use them all the time. So something isn't adding up, explain why my rifle shots are not missing as much as in this vid. Again, I'm not defending rifles, I'm just saying this video seems a little cherry pocked because I promise if you are 1ap and you give me that same rifle setup, I am for sure knicking your ass. GT is ICEN 2 OP on xbox, don't really care about Ranked anymore, I already beat all the Top S and was S twice before as well as a vet in ACFA on xbox. Again, I don't use meta and I beat the Top S players, I just beat the top S player 2-3 times in a row earlier and the 3rd best S rank twice in a row, same day using machine guns and basic things while they used kites or LBRs.
100% agree with all of this, toss in the problem with netcode an lag an it's a very tedious experience alot of time, which sucks bc it has such great potential in pvp!
I know it may sound sacrilegious, but a mixture of soft/hard lock may help with rifle consistency. using hard lock when closing the distance and using soft when backpedaling seem to provide at least a smidge more reliability. But hey that's just a theory... Possibly a core theory

Kinetic rifles, mainly the Turner and Scudder, occupy a strange position in the balancing. Theyre probably the most all around "meh" of all weapons. They have decent pressure at range but thats about it. On their own their dps is mediocre and they cant build up stagger very well. At close range the ludlow and etsujin outperform rifles. And at mid range the Ransetsu RF and linear rifles outperform them. Its like theyre placed in this strange spot between smgs and longer rifles that doesnt make a lot of practical sense. When you can just put a Ransetsu in one hand and an etsujin in the other and have viable offense at both close and mid range for duels.
He can't hit the other guy cause the whole weapon class is of the ones barely designed by the devs. It's like flails in elden ring, inferior copy paste from another class.
