Hi Mike, out here in Colorado hand making a net, thinking that my knot making hand may wear out before i finish or i die of old age,,,, also it being my first and at this rate my last , im not sure anymore even what row im on and if i add any more of them damn wideners things i may never finish, i dont know that i would want to cast this net in fear of something happen to it after i understand it gets better the more you practice but knot tiying what seems like a million knots is kicking my tail... Now i understand why they cost so much .... My hats off to ya and your hands gotta be wore to the bone..

I am running into issues with a premature knot forming when closing out the English knot. Have you ever had this issue in your net making career? Any ideas what I might be doing wrong?

Be sure and keep the loop tight against the mesh board before you tie the knot.

I still do not understand what I was doing wrong, but I very rarely run into that issue anymore.😁

I am working on a net which has 11/16 mesh with a hanging length of 56 inches (my state does not allow nets over 10 feet diameter). I have caculated that i will have 392 mesh at the bottom. Is 392 enough?
