- These mothers didn’t know they were pregnant. In 2021, three nurses were all on board the same flight when a woman went into labor. In 2019, 46-year-old Monica Thompson got the surprise of her life when she thought she had stomach cramps and ended up being pregnant. In 2015, 47-year-old Judy Brown thought she was gaining weight due to menopause, but left a doctor’s appointment with a baby. Inside Edition Digital’s Andrea Swindall has more.
I’m so happy for these women! My grandma didn’t know she was having twins until after my uncle was born. Seven minutes later, my dad was born!

This happened to a girl I went to school with. She found out at 27 weeks. She didnt look like she had a pregnant belly. She was only 18 years old, she kept the baby and got married to the father and they're doing well.

Same, I mean I’ve never even done it and am waiting for marriage so I should have no worries (I’m almost 15) but it’s still something that stays in the back of my mind. Like I do want kids once I’m married but I do a lot of crazy things, I wouldn’t want to be pregnant and go on a giant rollercoaster or jump off a wall or something, not knowing about it.

@@lovinglymq5576 I’m actually the youngest and before my mom got pregnant with me she had to get her gallbladder removed so we think that’s why she didn’t get sick with me. The only reason she went to the doctor was because she was gaining weight without any real explanation. If she hadn’t done that she wouldn’t have known until I was born.
No it doesn't stop saying it's okay to be stupid, you have a monthly cycle and if it misses twice then you need to check it so 2 months at most to know

My mom thought she was getting her period and the doctor at the time (1995) told her to put her feet up to stop the bleeding. So there was that. But that said unknown pregnancy does happen
I didn't know i was pregnant until 27 weeks with one of my daughters. I had had a period and test weee negative even in office with my ob. I returned to him at 27 weeks and said there's something moving in there and low and behold there was. She was a small baby at 5lbs 6oz and is still a small little lady today
Edit: i have always had a bmi of 20 so i don't know how but they can just hide sometimes.
My uncle, who was a high risk obgyn in New York, said he could’ve written a book about how many times he saw this happen. It’s not as uncommon as people might think.
My story isn’t quite as dramatic, but I didn’t know I was pregnant with my son until I was 18 weeks along. I had 2 different doctors tell me that it wasn’t a pregnancy and diagnosed me with other things. My 2 pregnancy tests were inconclusive. I finally found a doctor that figured it out and boy was I confused. Misdiagnosed and upset with that, but grateful to have a healthy baby 18 weeks later ❤
Frankly, I don’t think TLC would’ve had a show called I Didn’t Know I Was Pregnant if it was as uncommon as people think! 🤷🏻♀️
I didn't know I was pregnant with my now 8yr old son until I was 5mths pregnant with him. I had complications with my kidneys and was sick a lot due to the medications I was on. Every few weeks my GP would do a pregnancy test but it kept coming back negative, so when one day it came back positive, I actually went into shock. That same night I had a massive bleed, was sent to the early pregnancy unit at our local hospital only to be told I was 5mths gone. We then had a gender scan and could actually see straight away he was a boy as he had his bum towards the screen. 😂. He came 6wks early weighing 6lbs 6oz but was very poorly so had to stay in NICU for 2 and a half weeks as he had too many white blood cells. He nearly died twice aswell. He has special needs with severe learning disabilities aswell as other complex needs including developmental delay and sensory problems. Apart from that, he's a happy, although very small 8yr old child. 😊

To me this is understandable, there's a possibility that you won't feel movement or kicks until you're half way through your pregnancy. I'm 37 weeks myself and I'm like 🤨 HOW DIDN'T THEY NOT KNOW!!!
@Melissagrant4178 thank you. He's getting there, plenty of therapies like physio and occupational and speech and language therapy. He has just started to learn how to sound out the letters through phonics, which most children learn by reception class. He's in yr4 but he will get there with plenty of encouragement. @Marycooper7423 not sure what you mean by that comment 🤔.

When my daughter was born, my hospital roommate was one of these. Very athletic, pregnant and didn't know it.
My fiance and I didn't know she was pregnant til the day she gave birth. Unfortunately it was a still born. The b*** of nurse put it to us like this "The good news is there's a baby, the bad news is it isn't with us anymore". This was in 2018 and I still have a hard time with this.

I have never understood this. I'm currently pregnant right now and I just don't get how you go 9 months and not no anything??? I understand it's different for everyone but still you feel them, no period, there sooo many symptoms???

From watching I didn’t know I was pregnant most woman gain a little weight and they do have some symptoms a lot of the woman had unregulated periods to begin and they were on birth control with and when the at home test come back negative they disregarded the symptoms

Hi..i never believed this kind of stories before until it happened to my daughter in law....7 months baby...❤❤just love my grand son he is 8 yrs old now...
I was pregnant for 3-1/2 months-( after having 4 other children) and i never knew it... I knew I felt tired, and "weird" but I had heavy periods all along, and it was even written down when I had periods, .. until I hemorrhaged and had a miscarriage, and was taken to the hospital in the ambulance, I was asked if I was PG and of course I said "no" as i had had heavy periods and it was recorded... But a ultrasound proved other wise, was 3-1/2 months pregnant and did not know it... It can happen.. My last child was born at age 47 , and at first I thought I was in menopause, and was just very tired for some reason, but a test proved i was PG...

I found out today that I'm like 6 months pregnant. I just thought the symptoms were bc I have no gallbladder. Swollen ankles & feet chalked up to water retention & night sickness was normal. I really had no clue.

This could've been my story! I didn't know i was pregnant until i was 6 months along. I thought I had some intestinal blockage or stomach cancer or someone like that. I never thought i could've been pregnant. I had been diagnosed with PCOS a year earlier and my doctor dashed my dreams of having another child. I have two miracles, 22 and 12 years old. 😊
Fun fact if a baby is born on a plane the baby nationally will be what ever contry there flying over if the baby is born in international water then it will be the contry that houses the planes company like if a British woman gave birth on a American airlines flight over international waters the baby would be American because that's the planes origin. Or I could be completely wrong who knows.

I had such horrible morning sickness that lasted my entire pregnancy, and my chest started hurting in the first 8 weeks of my pregnancy. That’s how I suspected I was pregnant. I only My body didn’t even look like I was pregnant until my 6th month for whatever reason. I only gained 12 pounds during my pregnancy, so every time I went to prenatal checkups the medical staff would be condescending to me and accuse me of purposely not trying to gain weight. I was nauseated my entire pregnancy.
I could hardly eat during my pregnancy, but I made sure I ate healthy when I could eat. My son was 9 lbs. 1oz and 21” when he was born, and I lost 30 pounds within a month of having him. I don’t know why my body did what it did, but I’m really grateful that my son was extremely healthy. The doctor who delivered my son said “congratulations, you just gave birth to a linebacker!” LoL! That was over 35 years ago.

During a pregnancy, there will be symptoms and changes (even though it's different for everyone), so I don't understand how can someone not notice at all a single of these symptoms and not know they're pregnant.
I didn't know I was pregnant the first time at all. I had unusual periods and I hardly gained any weight. I never had morning sickness I was tired and sad all the time. I thought it was depression when I went to the hospital found out I was 4 1/2 months pregnant with a boy. I went from thinking I was depressed to shocked. I was lucky enough to carry him to full term. I only weighed 136 pounds when I had him. His dad got freaked out that he left and never came back. My child will be graduating from high school next year he just turned 17 years old last Thursday.
If you bleed every month like a period the last thing you’re gonna think is pregnancy.

Not too sound rude or anything, but how do you not know that you’re pregnant? I mean, do you not feel something squirming in there?
Kid might not have moved much. Plus some people just don’t experience the typical signs of pregnancy or have other health issues that might mask certain symptoms (ex: an obese person not noticing more weight or someone with PCOS or endometriosis who has an irregular period might not think to check for a while since they’re used to it taking longer between periods)

My first babygirl I did not gain any weight. Never had morning sickness my feet did not swell nothing. It was an old lady who told me congratulations on my baby i just laugh at her. I did a test and it was positive went to the doctor the monday i was 7 months pregnant. The saturday a 2:35pm i give birth to my babygirl Trevlyn Alexzandreah. She's 16 years old strogest baby i ever deliver. She don't sick at all. Am so thankful to God for her🙏🙏 all praise to him
I can relate, because I only gained 12 pounds my entire pregnancy and I didn’t look like I was pregnant until the beginning of my 7th month. I found out I was pregnant in the early stages of the first trimester. The nurses were extremely rude to me when I had my prenatal exams and accused me of trying not to gain weight on purpose, and made me feel horrible, but I was nauseated throughout my entire pregnancy, so I couldn’t eat much, but I made sure I was eating healthy food when I could eat. My doctor wasn’t too worried about me not gaining weight. My son was born on 11/08/88 at 5:22 am, and he weighed 9 pounds 1 ounce and 21 inches long, so he was very healthy. I also thank God for having a healthy boy! 🩵🙏🏼🩵

In many of these types of cases, people get false negative pregnancy tests. That coupled with barely, if any, pregnancy symptoms causes some people to not know. Some people's bodies don't really show any signs of pregnancy, this is not common but it does happen.
that because the baby's sometimes when they inside the womb of the mothers they be so small and she doesn't feel any weight inside her belly
How do you not notice you’re pregnant. How do you not notice
1. A giant bulging baby bump
2. Not having your period
3. You’re constantly throwing up

@@phoebetonkin8020 you can experience vaginal bleeding during pregnancy that in many cases resembles a period enough to fool people into thinking they still have their regular cycle. Plus as was stated in the video, older women might just assume that the lack of a period is due to the onset of menopause.

🚽 ~ Imagine how dangerous it is to feel like you have to have a bowel movement, because as I understand it that’s often how it feels to a woman. And then all of a sudden your baby falls out headfirst into the toilet and it can give them brain damage from the impact.
Not knowing your pregnant comes with different risks as we have seen here, but then having your baby go to your life as a vegetable because of brain damage would be so much worse.

For the older women their cycles had probably already been irregular so when it stopped they assumed it was menopause
Sometimes they get skipped, I’ve had it happen to me and I’m a teen. You don’t have to be old for it to happen.

From what I was hearing on the video a couple of the babies that were very low weight were born a couple months early.

Exercising depends on person to person. Some have lifted weights, ran on the treadmill, and taken pilates classes and given birth to healthy babies. If their doctor gives the 👍🏼 it's 👍🏼

And you've clearly worked in a labor and delivery ward. Yeah, this happens a lot. In a society that's embracing being overweight, you lose one of your biggest signs. The incidence rate of women not knowing that they're pregnant and suddenly give birth is on the rise. It's shrunk to about 1 in every 2,500 pregnancies where the mother doesn't know until birth.
