Hollywood long in bed with the CIA and MIC are far and above the most skillful of liars, they are in the business of psychological and emotional deception. Thus perhaps better to beware the difference between "black mirror" and gazing mirror.
Short answer: MONEY!! Slightly longer answer: They are trying to appeal to women. They think that having a woman in the lead role will make it more likely that more women will go see the movie.
@@chasehedges6775 Understandable, but they are putting it under biographical not historical fiction which would lead people to believe the fictional character Amelia Wren is real.
I'd love to see more of Felicity Jones' works but am displeased that she's playing a completely fictional character, replacing that of an actual figure, in this supposedly based-on-true-story.
@@Nathiest2 so what about history then? How would you feel if you achived something and in the future someone made up a charachter and attributed that achivement to someone who is a complete work of fiction?
It's not right to put in a fictional person in a historical drama. It just confuses people. They should have kept the actual partner of James Glaisher, Henry Coxwell with him in the movie. There were women who were actual aeronauts such as: Sophie Blanchard, wife of the first professional balloonist, who went on to make 60 trips on her own even after her husband died. She also made experiments, and had fun, setting off fireworks, and crossed the alps in her balloon! Then there is Camille Du Gast who was also an avid race car driver, who was friends with two other women balloonists who were widely renowned for their accomplishments. Why weren't these real women's stories told, their accomplishments, having the film focus on aeronauts the world over? Many of them corresponded with each other and were friends and knew of each other. This has been done successfully in films before, no reason why it couldn't, and do justice to history. It helps no one to put in people who weren't there. Aeronauts led exciting lives. Women aeronauts did face these sorts of challenges. I would have preferred based on their letters and history in newspapers, to see more of what women really faced than possibly some contrived scripting, that will feel cliche.
Lo... Voglio... Vedere!!!!!! Musica fantastica, cast incredibile e duo formidabile già ben riuscito in: La teoria del tutto, scenografia che richiama Tim Burton. Credo sarà un film splendido.
@@jameshowe8688 Because it has good actors(Eddie Redmayne, c'mon) and it looks like it will take place in the sky(so plenty of good visuals, effects and camerawork and photography) It's better to see the good in something. And that is what I see.

Beware the difference between “inspired by” and “based on” a true story
Even if they say it's a true story then I will not believe in cause of the butterfly scene.

@@faisal_noor agree. Butterfly can't fly too high
Henry Coxwell was the actual co-pilot in real life. I don't know why Hollywood likes to rewrite history.
It's simple: it's Hollywood.
It doesn’t even seem like a bad movie, but I do feel really bad for the actual co-pilot. His name shouldn’t just be left out.

Wow, it's true. There's even a section on Henry Tracey Coxwell's wikipage talking about being replaced from this movie.

That was a cool movie, little bit short but I didn't miss anything so that's good.
“A top priority for us on the The Aeronauts is authenticity” said producer Todd Liberman.
- Replaces the pilot for a fictional character...
Now imagine if Marie Curie was to be casted as Ryan Gosling... Ohhhh the outbreak it would make... Lol

She played Jyn Erso well, I'll gladly say that.
"Based"
It’s inspired by, not based on. There’s a big difference.
Why not make an actually inspirational film based upon what a woman _actually_ achieved than replace men and try and take credit for theirs?
Yes yes because of the Man she is being put down in this world , oh oh my the opression is just horrendous
Because we have enough science fiction? 😜
