The beat that Stormzy used for Disappointed is pretty significant, as that beat was from the Headie One and RV song "Know Better", and if you know about the "Uni Incident" and the Snapchat stuff, you realise how deep this beef is.
Round 2 is much more entertaining - much more personal, so you’ll love it Scru! I’m not a huge Stormzy fan but he bodied Wiley on the next round for real!!! Can’t wait for you to hear Chip’s diss tracks though - even though we’ve not had a proper response from Stormzy, it’s still been mega entertaining watching Chip do what he does best!
Not sure if I'm correct, but I'm assuming when Wiley says spirit of ace, he's referring to either Major Ace (more likely, major grime trailblazer who passed too soon) or Merky ACE (less likely, but still a thought of mine cuz Stormzy has that whole Merky brand). Wiley def is coming from the father's perspective, he raps over classic old grime beats throughout this beef, but Stormzy hitting wit way more fact/substance
This was a clash of ages, Wiley is coming from the Old School when grime clashes were in person in underground basements or venues like a cypher and 2 guys would go back to back 16 bars each on a grime tune so even though the bars might be surface level, things like delivery, stage presence and how you flow on the beat could drive a crowd wild and win you the clash. Stormzy is approaching this from the perspective of a traditional diss track where the bars are most important. Wiley is known for his flows, his flows are crazy sick but his lyrical content isn't necessarily top tier from a battle rapping perspective. This is what made judging this odd because grime people that know OG grime clashes would see Wiley's perspective and respect it but also see the 'diss track' perspective along with the majority of people who don't know Grime and think Stormzy bodied him. Wiley also has a tendency to warm up over rounds, again just like in a live clash that might go on for a large number of rounds, man would save flows and energy for a beat that it gels so well with the symbiosis could force song rewinds / reloads and crowd reaction. For an example of what i'm talking about, watch Don't Flop Grime Clashes on TH-cam, a particularly good one was a 2v2, Dialect and Double L vs Villain and Izzie Gibs. You'll notice how lot of times, they're just flowing and the bars are surface level or soft jokes but they still hit hard.
Yo check.. Sidewinder dizzy rascal, Risky roads, the movement documentary, Eskimo beats, lord of the mics. Kano vs Wiley and Ghetts vs Nappa not to forget squeaks and joe black and Bashy chuppa chups mixtape. Ghetts fuck radio…. This was my Yute
@@mollywopper22 It's called objective analysis. Seeing things from all the angles besides the homogenous viewpoint based solely on impulsive emotional response.
@@shadowmuurheru Nah they're called rhetorical fallacies. For example, saying OGs respect wiley while "people who don't know grime" think stormzy bodied him is an appeal to authority, and not a very good one considering your lack of substantial evidence. Saying he has a tendency to warm up over rounds in a live clash even though this isn't one is both a false equivalence and hasty generalization. The false equivalence comes from you equating a live battle to trading diss tracks when they are, by your own admission, very different things. The hasty generalization is assuming wiley will also warm up in this clash just because he has in the past. And your reply claiming objective analysis is mostly grandiloquence, or using complex words to make your self seem smarter. I did the same thing in this reply by needlessly listing out rhetorical fallacies to show you 2 things: it doesn't make you look smarter it just makes you sound like a dickhead, and you're not as smart as you seem to think you are, a point further proven by your incorrect use of the obsolete word "homogenous" instead of "homogeneous". I'll let you look up the difference yourself. Bonus lesson; that last insult to your intelligence was an ad hominem fallacy, which is a personal attack on you instead of countering you argument.
You are also right, the visual from Stormz does help. Since the entire video is him "Sipping his tetley, taking a toke" which is a bar from his song Wiley Flow
the stormzy beat is from a song called no better by headie one and rv, its a song that they made after getting caught lacking by opps in a university and in less then 12 hours they got back and shot up their block, if u wanna get into uk drill, thats a good place to start no cap 🔥
The beat Stromzy uses on Disappointed is from Headie One - Know Better, a song he made after he had an altercation and the next day an opp allegedly got shot.
React to “Bugzy Malone fire in the booth” one of the greatest and it did record breaking numbers, setting him up on a good pedestal generally speaking coz he even said “if the fire in the booth ddnt work, i was going back on the road”

The responses from this point onwards were released within HOURS of eachother… …oh and Stormzy was literally on a UK tour IN THE SAME WEEK. He would literally record these tracks & vids on the move.
Chip vs Stormzy will have you rethinking everything you thought about stormzy lmao, Chip even mentions it in his diss that when it was Wiley he was all over him, but then with Chip it's like he lost his tongue.
Wiley is the godfather of grime. If it wasn't for him, there wouldn't be a stormzy. Wiley is proper old skool. Stormzy did hold his own though. The way Scru was shocked by Stormzys opening lines. Hahahahahahahah. You need to react to chip vs Stormzy. Chip finishes him off. Quick hint: Stormzy real name is Mike. (Mic). You'll see why I'm giving you a heads up if you react to Chip vs Stormzy. I'm from the UK. Nice one for reacting to different raps. Love from the 🇬🇧.
I think Wiley’s whole point was that stormzy used grime as a platform to build himself then left to do more pop and charting music laving the grime genre and it’s artists as opposed to bringing grime with him and sees it as big disrespect because Wiley pioneered the genre of grime
@@patrickelliot943 i dont think you get the point, chasing success isnt the problem. We will never know what wiley wouldve done if he got as big as stormzy but wiley has always stayed true to grime.
Both of these wer cold, Wiley using double entendres etc yea good but stormzy? Man came thru for war both disappointed and still disappointed. the beat stormzy is showin how serious he was cuz the beat is from Headie one and RV - know better and that is a classic when it comes to drill because it was a reply to an incident Headie was involved in and stormzy used it to reply to wiley which is just sick to see as a fan and bro u gotta check out headie one and rv but especially headie one he is a certified goat in the uk drill scene
You pretty much got most of them. Here's what you may have missed On Wiley, To "wring your neck" means choke someone out. Stormzy really brought it out on the I'm chill and don't care vibe. While sipping his coffee and having a smoke. The lines; "Old man, you apprentice", that was a Star Wars bar as if to say despite Wiley's experience he doesnt hold a candle to him, then calling on tropes like crack, he's saying he doesnt like his content and considers him irrelevant, then goes on about how his whole family are failures. He also touched on beef with Ja/Wiley as if Wiley was chasing clout. Stormzy also welcomed the challenge saying to "hit hard" like he's just brushing off all the attacks. Stormzy had the benefit of going 2nd but his cadence won it for me. The whole "Who are you?" and "was that it?" vibe was too strong, as he was not mad, just disappointed. Video was good at portraying it too. Good stuff all round though
This is actually really funny - and true!!! I never thought of it like that! I’m an ‘older’ fan - I was already 20ish when I first heard Wiley, Dizzee, Skepta, Kano, Ghetts, Giggs, Chip etc and had followed garage before that - however, ask most of my friends who their favourite rapper is and they’ll all say either Eminem or Stormzy! Lol!
Wiley's role in this beef is to school Stormzy on grime riddims. Stormzy hits the hardest punches for sure. Wiley was trynna remind the world what he does best.
A forgotten track in this beef is Wileys brother responds to this diss and it’s called WW3 by Cadell and he responds to all these claims. I personally prefer Cadells track over the first round of tracks but that’s just me check it out if you want
