This movie came out ahead of its time. This was released after 9/11. At that time everyone was united regardless what their political slant was. Back then there was no Wokeism trying to get people fired from jobs, blacklisted, doxing personal information, destroy careers all in the name of an ideology that has gone too far. That's because we all had a common enemy that was on the other side of the Atlantic that had just committed the most horrific crimes against humanity on September 11th. This movie fits more with what's going on right now. It's ironic that the liberal left have become what the Republicans were during the 1950s McCarthyism Red Scare.
It's sad how Darabont still hasn't made his Fahrenheit 451 remake. I think this whole Walking Dead lawsuit got in the way of him making any movies in recent years.
