In an interview famous director Hrishikesh Mukherjee told that "everyone said regarding singing of Kishore Kumar, but my opinion he was one of the best actor in all time of Bollywood but unfortunately Kishore hasn't used properly by director like us"...... Hrishikesh Mukherjee made a script for Kishore Kumar for film Anand, but those days Kumar was top at hindi song, he refused and Rajesh Khanna was second selection by Mukherjee.
There is a story behind it. Kishoreda told his guards to not let a bengali guy inside his house. And the guards by mistake didn't allow hrishikeshji inside the house. This made him furious and the reason why kishoreda wasn't casted in the movie. Mehmood was also going to be casted in place of amitabh. Anyway they patch up later.
