I was fortunate and blessed to say I saw him from the start. When he was with the other guys performing in the Easter Parade and in the park when the parade was over. Ronnie Tape, Glen Newsome, Kenny Givins, Robert Troupe and seems like I'm forgetting someone.This was late 70s, early 80s. Eddie played so many instruments, crazy talent. Even way back then it was no doubt that he had what it takes to sit at that table with the super talented. U could see the gift. It seems like yesterday he rocked the park after the parade and the next week he/they had moved to LA and week after that,,, he released the song and week after that he was on SOUL TRAIN. Our town is not one that was well known but ET sort of put us under the light. We are also home of Deion Sanders, Jevon Kearse, Earnest Graham, Phillip Buchanon, Edgerrin James, these are all football guys but ET was #1. I don't think he got his just due b/c the boy was BAD. But he stirred the hell out of the pot. They knew who he was. Shine on from the HEAVENS, STAR. FT. MYERS WILL NEVER FORGET YOU. Look down here at us and smile. man...how we got cheated by MTV and so on over here in germany...seems like there's a video for every cool song i've eer heard..we've seen close to NONE OF IT...but we saw "modern talking" and BS like that 24/7...and hair-metal dudes. god, how i realize how BRAINWASHED my yoth was. i knew all this stuff. this song was one of my favourites..it was vERY HARD to get this record back then..over here. ya'll don't know how good u had it over there...gets one jealous...lol...i feel cheated.
