Enjoyed the conversation. Long time fan since 1982. Met him twice in 1991. I love it all. Nova's Dream is a masterpiece, I'd pay $100 for that. It's what he's all about. Love that CD. Subject is my favorite. Love love love his new stuff. Good discussion, honest. I would have enjoyed participating in it. I've heard the complete opera. It's a masterpiece!
As much as I liked BTO, April Wine,Loverboy,Exciter, VoiVod,...I tried with Aldo Nova and just couldn't get into much beyond Fantasy...Could be another case like the Scorpions and Laura Branigan,,an artist/band I was a late bloomer in appreciating...That's really what shows like this ,Sea Of Tranquility and Contrarians excel at, getting people to take another listen or check out bands they forgot or ignored previously.
"A Career Retrospective" series is top notch. What an interesting artist to look back upon. I picked up the three Rock Candy re-issues about a year ago. Here in Sydney, Australia Aldo Nova didn't get much market movement or play. The local music shops had the odd album but filed them in the general area, not with the rock/metal. My pals and I kept looking at the albums but would pass on it for other material. Being pre-internet and relying on word of mouth, magazines and local radio we had to only guess what his material was like. In the end we determined its guitar orientated but not rock or metal (much like Prince or Dan Reed Network). By the time we saw a clip his albums were no longer being stocked locally.

Everybody’s Crazy was also on the Back to School soundtrack. Great hair metal sounding song by Michael Bolton.

We couldn’t get mtv in Britain back then unless you were rich we used to go round to a friends house who had money and catch bits & pieces of videos
I didn't MTV until later in life. I had to see it at cousin's house back in the day

Hey Grant! You should do a episode of yourself, buying music online. By our request!!!
Maybe one day...I do seem to buy quite a bit! Thanks D!
actually, the open from top is not a bad idea.
Like the original UK pressing of the White Album..those were top loaders
