      Hello, I clicked on the link in your PDF "Project Tracking and Rollup Template Set" but it takes me to signup for Smartsheet's. I already have a premium Smartsheets account, but there's no where that I can just sign into my account. Does the link you provide for the Rollup Template set need to be updated?

    I see that you can add dependencies, but can you specify which types of relationships are able to be set? Is there an option to add start to start or is everything finish to start in SmartSheet?

      Hi Tiffany! You can. It defaults to FS relationships, although there is a drop-down that allows you to change it to SS, SF, or FF relationships, which is helpful. You can also add lags by adding a ‘+’ and the number of days. Cheers!

      Thank you, Mike Brehm! It can definitely save a lot of time using these templates, when setting up your project schedule. I know there are many tools of choice and this is just one of them.

    I know how to set a baseline, but how can we progress the schedule to track against original planned dates vs actuals?

      When you set a baseline in Smartsheet, it adds three columns that mirror your Start Date and End Date columns (planned dates), along with a ‘variance’ column. These are view only columns that document changes/variances against your original plan. You want to update your start date and end date columns to represent ‘actuals’ as you execute your project. Then reference the variance column to see if you’re on track.

    Kandis- I'm looking for work order tracking system using Smartsheets with third party vendors. Is this possible?

      Hi Dawn! Yes, this is absolutely possible. Did you explore the Smartsheet templates? They may have an off-the-shelf that meets your needs. Depending on how you will interact with the vendors, you may want to create a form to get necessary information from them. You can also invite them as ‘collaborators,’ if desired.

    How to a do a formula that adds 60 days to a date?

      It will look like this in the predecessor column, with 3 representing the row of the task that must be completed first, FS representing a Finish-to-Start relationship, then adding 60 working days to the dates: 3FS+60
      Explanation:
      1. In the Predecessor column, type the row number for the item that must occur before the item you’re working with.
      2. Enter the relationship between the two tasks (FS is most common):
      Finish-to-Start (FS) - start after the predecessor finishes.
      Finish-to-Finish (FF) - finish at the same time the predecessor finishes.
      Start-to-Start (SS) - start at the same time the predecessor starts.
      Start-to-Finish (SF) - finish before the predecessor starts.
      3. Add the number of working days you want to delay the task.

    Is there a way to have a project track not only by date but time? (Hours) so that 2pm occurs before 3pm etc...

      Hi Fred! I usually don’t schedule more granular than 1 day in Smartsheet. To my knowledge, they don’t have a feature that supports this. I tend to use the 8-80 rule when creating the WBS: ‘Follow the 8/80 rule to ensures that no task is less than 8 hours or more than 80 hours in the WBS. If a task is greater than 80 hours then you need to decompose it further into lower-level work packages.’

    Hi Kandis, is there a way to show multiple projects, and phase due dates? I would like to be able to see if project phases overlap each other, or a due on the same week/ day..
