Good day Sir! After watching the video I learn that a tachometer is a device used to measure the revolution speed of any rotating object, such as a shaft or motor. Basically, it plays a big role in marine engineering because it dermine the speed of marine diesel engines on board ships. There are two types of tachometer such as analog tachometer and digital tachometer. Analog tachometer composed of needle and dial interface. This is an old type of tachometer that's why it can't compute details such as average speed and deviation. On the other hand, digital tachometer composed of LCD and LED dispaly which can be seen to modernized cars or motorcycles. Tachometers has two type the Analog and and Digital tachometers. Analog is using needle and dial type of interface while digital tachometers is LCD or LED display. Digital Tachometer has for type the Contact type that is direct contact measuring LCD as dispay , next is the Non contact that is more efficient l, durable , accurate and compact and the third one is the time based that is more accurate for measuring when the speed is low and the last one is the Prequency Based that is more accurate for measuring in high speed. Sir, can you explain how a pulse tachometer works? like the OPPAMA brand, how can he read the engine speed only from the spark plug wire? what exactly is he reading? sparks or high frequency voltage across the spark plug wire? @@LouieJuera hi..i already install the tach ..they 5 wire red white yellow i connect all of them to 12v wire..the problem is green wire which is for the ignition..since i had a 3 seperate ignition im woried to connect to one of them..so i took out the cluster board and try to locate the wire of the tach of the car..they have a lot of wire..what i did is i try to connect one by one to find the right wire ..but everyone of the nothing..only 2 wire has reaction..the white one with blue stripe and the brown one with stripe..but..the white one.when i connect..the needle of the tach has a reading up to 7000 rpm..and the whote one the needle had bad behavior moving like none stop ..which is booth of them is not normal..what should i do
@@LouieJuera or should i connect the green wire of my aftermarket tach directy to one of the negative wire of ignition plug of my 3 cylinder car?appreciate.thanks

After watching this video sir, i've learned about what is tachometers and how tachometers works specially onboard the ship, and tachometer measure the speed of machines and devices and tachometer is important on board ship to measure the rotational speed of a shaft in a generator. there's also a tachometers generator and it is electromechanical devices which output a voltage proportional to their shaft speed and also i have learned the two main types of tachometer such as the Analog tachometers and Digital Tachometers Analog tachometer comprised of a needle and a dial type of interface that the speed is converted to voltage, the value of voltage in a analog voltmeter calibrated to measure speed that means calibrated to rpm, and the Digital tachometers comprised of an LCD or LED display and it is programmed to perform mathematical operation such as average speed and are suitable for precise measurements. And also digital has a type which is the contact type this type is dirwct contact type, Second type is Non- Contact very efficient, durable, accurate and compact, other type is time base and frequency base, thankyouu sir❤️

There are three sorts of tachometers: contact, non-contact, and time-based.

Sir, can you explain how a pulse tachometer works? like the OPPAMA brand, how can he read the engine speed only from the spark plug wire? what exactly is he reading? sparks or high frequency voltage across the spark plug wire? @@LouieJuera hi..i already install the tach ..they 5 wire red white yellow i connect all of them to 12v wire..the problem is green wire which is for the ignition..since i had a 3 seperate ignition im woried to connect to one of them..so i took out the cluster board and try to locate the wire of the tach of the car..they have a lot of wire..what i did is i try to connect one by one to find the right wire ..but everyone of the nothing..only 2 wire has reaction..the white one with blue stripe and the brown one with stripe..but..the white one.when i connect..the needle of the tach has a reading up to 7000 rpm..and the whote one the needle had bad behavior moving like none stop ..which is booth of them is not normal..what should i do
