I grew up on Jazz and Blues in South Central L.A. yes, a white kid 1968. I had No problems. Sports saved me from the streets and MUSIC....Played harmonica in a band. Today we're listening to TAKE 6. Marla Thomas and Dave are wonderful people. Met Dave of Take 6 in a store. Very kind guy. April 2023. I was bragging about MY MUSIC....lol I had no idea who he was. Sad. I looked ridiculous. He smiled and just said, I am Dave of Take six....then I cried. funny. Great guys!

The changes to the bass line and even the leads are... 🤦🏽♂️ and the addition of the drums... as a drummer I must say that I approve!!!!!!! Not over played. Just the right amount. Plus the backing percussion. OMG!!! I wish I could give this 10 thumbs up.

At a early age of 5 I developed a love for singing and music because of my father. 7-9 years old sang in the children’s church choir. Then at 10 started singing with the adults. Then in 1988 at the age of 13 I heard Take 6, and got interested in group and a cappella. Then years later I heard Claude McKnight’s brother;Brian. So he got me back into solo. They was and always will be my #1 group and Brian #1 solo. I adapted their music styles presence, appreciation, and character/ charisma so much to where I could be in tune with them using my style of voice. Also sounding like Brian. My singing kept the girls and women around my arms. Now at 47 it hasn’t changed;remaining in tune with God. Had a lot of setbacks, but their singing kept the savage beast calm. Thank you so much for being apart of my life and spiritual arsenal. Yeah this is a little bit too much ✊🏾

I was around 22 years old, when I walked into a bookstore/music store and went to the demo area where you could listen to cassettes (so yeah, right there those were in style in late 80's). I popped in this group called Take 6, and kid you not, I only listened to about 10-15 seconds of a song or two and was blown away! Immediately hung up the headphones and purchased the cassette. Nothing but goodness and greatness came from that first album and it's non-stop since for these guys! I sing bass and lead myself, so I find myself jamming out to the lyrics and beatboxing some right alongside. Keep up the great work guys! Keep it coming! The first time I heard take-6 I broke my rigth foot. I was earing with headphones, laughing and crying at same time ...and didn’t see a stair in front of me. I remeber that the song was “goldmine”.
