Thank you for the video. Really like this awning option vs. rack mounted....half the weight, portable, and no need for a rack. A little longer to set up and take down but worth it IMO considering the weight savings and compact size.

Hi Jason - thanks - very helpful review. Have you seen the need for a side panel to deal with the sun coming up ,or going down?
Depending on the angle that we are parked, we add the moonshade above the side door or above the back door depending on the sun. Then we typically adjust the poles up and down to help. We find that there are times we also get a bit of sun, but this seems to help.
Seems pretty nice. It is also pretty expensive to me at $350.00.

Hi Alice, I own a Solis as well and it comes standard with the van. It is a magnetic closing screen. It can also in zip and roll up and secure it in place that way. There is also one in the rear.

Jason, thank you for sharing your experience with the Solis. I also plan on buying the Solis 59P, but with the a/c option instead of the pop top because I live in FL. I don’t know what state you’re from, but i wonder how you’re coping with your Solis with no a/c in the summer? Thanks again.
Hi, I live in SC and we just know that it will be really hot in July and August and try to head up to the mountains instead. We also have a few clip-on fans and the boundless breeze that definitely help. Thanks for your comment and you are going to love your new Solis!

Another negative is storing that we have that storage that I’m already using and I don’t think it would be worth it
Yeah, we store it in the area below the murphy bed, we just keep it in that cabinet. It does help on sunny days!

Thanks so much for watching. It does great in light rain. However, if it is a heavy rain or the wind is moving in a certain direction, it will not provide that much protection. I hope this helps.
Are there any permanent mounting options for awnings that fit the 59p or 59px?
If you get one without out a pop top, then yes! However, we have not been able to find a permanent awning with the pop top.
Hey Jason, very helpful and well-done tutorial on the Moonshade. One question: I have a 2022 Solis and am curious why you upgraded to the magnetic anchors instead of using the suction cups that come free in the shade kit. I am buying a Moonshade and am curious if the suction cups don't function well? There is only a small channel of aluminum between the top of the door and the fiberglass pop-top, so the suction cups may not fit in that channel?? Thanks so much!
Hi, thanks for the question. I did not even try it with the suction cups :). I purchased the magnets because we read that it was way stronger. hope it helps and hope you like your moonshade!

Do you have any recommendations on any van accessory companies that I could order an aftermarket product to wrap around the seat for storage compartments? Thanks again.

@@CarolinaCampervan In the video, you have the short side on the van - is that your preferred use? If so, why? If it came in a bigger size (the Travato awning is 13’ wide on the van) would you prefer it? Thanks for the video!
What alternatives you might suggest? Has anyone used something less expensive? I find it a bit overpriced.

How does it hold up in the rain? Will the rain leak into the doorway from the roof ? That is my main concern. Thanks for the video.
Thanks for the comment! On a hard rain, yes some water will come in. We installed some rain guards about the slider and that helped. But if it's raining hard you'll want to close the door. Thanks again!

I got a similar screen for my ProMaster van from @t. Dutch makes them in one of the Carolinas if Im not mistaken ;-)
