I have only been watching Richard's videos for a couple of weeks. He is obviously an experienced and fantastic fisherman. I have not actively fished since 2005, but am now retired and have the time and trying to get back into it. Great thing about Richard is that I'm not that far from his haunts, I know where some of his locations are and they are accessible. I only hope I can learn a hundredth of what Richard teaches. Such an original.
Richard, NEVER stop doing your alter ego character with the baseball cap cocked to one side. It just cracks me up. Leaves me in stitches! Yes, "FISHI' IZ GOOD FOR YA' ". You're a great fisherman! Man, that second fish you had, that Ol' Largemouth Bass, that is, wasn't about to wait on you to release him-he released himself! 🎣😆! I like the way you bring those fish in nice and slow. As we both know, patience is the name of the game! I've watched angler after angler try to catch the fish in such an all-fired hurry, that they either had the fish throw the hook, or the line broke. In November of 2018, I had a giant fish on, but, in a moment of excitement and panic, I made the big mistake of grabbing my fishin' pole in the middle of the rod while the big ol' thing ran right underneath of the Pier that I was fishin' on, and suddenly, SNAP! He not only snapped my pole, but a second later, he snapped my line, too! I was using an Ultralight Shakespeare Axiom Rod that I'd had since 2002, 4 Lb. Stren Fishing line (the Lo-Visibility type), and I was using a Quantum Reel. I'd fished with that particular setup on that Lake countless times before, and nothing had even come close to snapping my pole, much less my line. I learned 2 very valuable things that day: 1-NEVER sell a giant fish like that short. 2-Never go fishin' ill-prepared!😵😠! I began to update my gear this year, when it comes to fishin' that Lake. I now use a Shakespeare Medium Action Uglystik Rod, and a Shakespeare Medium Action Reel. It cost me about $60.00 for that combo, and I did have Stren Monofilament Line on it. (8 Lb., Lo-Visibility line). However, late this year, I re-spooled my reel with Power Plus Braided Line. It's 10 Lb. Test, but the diameter makes it look like 2 Lb. Test. Wish me luck, and tell Ol' Elmo I said "Hey". Thanks for having this Fishin' Channel up & runnin', and God bless you and your family, Brother!!!

Gene, me and my boys have always loved it when you lose yourself at the end. Our all time favorite is when you were washing your truck and u went crazy and sprayed yourself “I don’t keer “ or the time you said said I’m gonna be normal, no I caint be normal. You seem to maybe be conscious of it these days and I say to you brother...let yourself go, let it loose brother!! Your enthusiasm is an improvement on my life after a hard and stressful day. I agree I use Cajun Red all the time it is very resistant to abrasions......but dang when you hang up it’s just as aggravating.....uuhhh the good with bad I guess...but hey it’s nice knowing when she is on she is on.

Could you have a video on catching Hellgrammites in the creeks and fishing with them, I guarantee ya that will be a video worth watching. Tell Elmo he better be careful handling those things they pack a powerful bite, but the Bass ❤ them and gobble them up. Hellgrammites are tough and you can catch 3 to 6 fish on one bait provided you hook them under the protective shield located behind the head. As always thanks for sharing all your memorable fishing experiences. Those were some big fish you were catching, freelining is probably the most natural bait presentation you can present to a fish and it's a fun way to catch larger fish that would ignore an artificial lure.
