BERLIN: “Uprising of the decent” - After Merz quake! Huge demonstration planned against the CDU
While Friedrich Merz is focusing on a clear edge in the election campaign, massive resistance is forming: the “Uprising of the Decent” is bringing thousands onto the streets today. Protesters from broad sections of society - from Fridays for Future to the Protestant Church - gather in front of the Reichstag. Later, the demonstration marches to the Konrad Adenauer House, where Michel Friedmann is expected to speak. Security is tight, as past protests have sometimes gotten out of hand. The CDU is under pressure - will Merz succeed in distancing himself from the AfD or will the conflict intensify further?
