Wow 1670 feet. Look like it was a very slow rise to get the high point, because it still looked pretty flat on to the horizon. Great job on the video. Greta info.
Depending where you stand you can see the gradual rise of the hill, but overall it's pretty flat. You won't need to worry about supplemental oxygen here. :)
It is cool that they put so much effort into their high point! :) Over at bear mountain in Connecticut they actually stacked up a bunch of rocks to make it a bit taller lol. Always cool to see these, thanks for sharing sir! - Shane
Bear Mountain is one of the fun cases I'm looking forward to filming. It is the the tallest mountain in the state of CT, but it's not actually the highest point. That is actually on the south slope of nearby Mt. Frissel, whose summit is in Massachusetts.
Interesting. Years ago when I was a kid and teen, I went sledding with my sister and cousins at Ocheyedan Mound years ago. I was told then that it was the highest point.
It sure looks like it should compared to the surrounding area. I really like Ocheyedan Mound, has some nice views of the area. It probably makes a great sledding hill.
Hi Max, most likely because it is an area I just haven't given much focus to. I've relied on the default. Thanks for bringing it up, I'll put it on the list of things to do.
We use a variety of cameras. It's not the quality of footage recorded, that is all in HD, it's an upload thing. After your comment yesterday I went and narrowed it down to why. When exporting out of iMovie I usually select large instead of 1080 or 720. Most likely I will change that in the future.
I have visited this one, and it is a nice stop. With the rolling farmland around it, it doesn't seem higher, but I will take their word for it.
I loved this highpoint when my dad and I visited it! The mural is so cool!
I have a soft spot for Hawkeye Point. It embraces its kitsch.
Very interesting! Looks like it wasn't too hard of a trek to the top!
I felt pretty confident leaving the supplemental oxygen tanks in the car. :)
Glad you made it to the top. I was concerned about your safety on the way there.
I almost got lost in all the corn!
Hi, fantastic video, very informative and enjoyable. Look forward to watching more. :)
Thank you! New episodes come out the first of the month!
My home state! Would love to see you give Iowa the "extended" treatment you're doing in more recent vids. Love ur vids!
Thank you! I actually have an outlined sketch for an "extended" version of Iowa in the works.
went here yesterday. i thought the barn quilts were interesting. I saw several driving through Iowa.
Their little museum and agriculture display is a nice little addition to the site. Cheers!

I'm curious why these videos are in 480p instead of some higher resolution. It's just rare to see some one uploading today in that resolution.

Rooftops of America just one question what do you record on? Is it your phone or something else?

Rooftops of America oh ok well thank you for explaining why the resolution is like that.
Thanks for the tip and for checking out the channel. It's appreciated! Cheers!
