I was thinking about translating into different languages to diffuse the fact that my Aus accent can be confusing even for some English speakers. What languages would help? Where are u all from?
That was fascinating Tom! Very well put together how -to but also entertaining. Loved the flow, the text popped out, and your natural presentation skills. Nailed it mate 👍😉
Self Sufficient Me thanks mate! Trying to put into play everything we have been learning about. Although trying to put out a video a week has pushed my veggie patch into serious neglect haha
Tom you're the best beatboxer and very humble on top of that, you're such an inspiration for me ! Your vocal scratchs are the best, so glad you did a tutorial (even though i'll never get 10% of your level..)
I wanted to learn basic best box just for fun and ended up on your tedx talk and now your channel. You are incredible my friend ! Thank you for the love, music, and joy you bring to the world! It's people like you that are the space that allows people to be creative and laugh and love life in ways that are against the norm. Thank you for creating your music and inspiring others to smile and love and be joyous in whatever creative manner their heart wishes to express . Honored to have crossed by your music and teachings !
Omgggg finally !!!!!!I've been waiting for this tutorial for so long. Waiting for ur instagram posts to announce this coming. Seen so many vocal scratches but no one's like tom thum Salute to u sir Making beat box so easy for us learners thinking to do it on stage like u some day #respect
One of the best tutorials ever seen! And I think these days scratching is a bit forgotten by beatboxers. You don't hear that often these days. Big Up Tom! Great Job!
One of the main details that make Tom's scratch so realistic is the slight whistle he does. Kinda like the tuvan throat singing. At 2:09 you can hear it if you pay close attention. It adds that "electronic-ish" sound to it. Also, the note he ends the scratch in is another good detail. 1:54 is the perfect example. It gives the listener the idea that a sample is being repeated.
As someone who literally just found your videos on beatboxing yesterday, I am a huge fan of yours already. The way you break things down is so interesting. Learning about something new can be an intimidating idea. Thank you for feeding my curiosity instead of shutting it down.
Ur the best Tom, there will never be another beat boxer, entertainer and artist like u, BUT with all those voices u can pull off, u gotta start doing some recorded prank phone calls to people lol And Hey from Tamworth NSW btw.
man man man , aur the best beatboxer evr ive seen ,best best best ,theres nothing i can say anymore, your voice gave me goosebumps everytime i heard them, thanks for sharing such tutorials ,and keep up uploading stuff ,we love u
When I saw your hands moving and most of it was actually in sync including the fader movements, I couldn't help but wonder if you are be able to actually scratch on turntables. I would like to see it, especially if you have never done it before :D
Mr Tom Thum. I have the utmost respect for you sir. I have recently watched you share your experience as a child. I have also watched you share your experience in Germany with your heart. I have tried and will continue to show my children what can be accomplished with a support of a dream. I do hope to have a chance to meet you one day for somthing as simple as a hug. I and my family love following your journey, love from Canada!
WO.OW ! Maaaaaaan ! X,D A french beatboxer called Scratchy recommended this video to me, that's how I am meeting You at last ! You rock, your explanations sound crystal-clear, Thank You so much ! I haven't tried it all now because I've trained too much in the last 24 hours and my throat and cheek muscles need some deserved rest (I am a beginner, started beatboxing 2 months ago; here in Paris, we are a crew of women learning together!), but I couldn't help trying a few tips. I keep the rest for another day. Please go on sharing, You're an amazing artist & teacher, and it's fun watching You ! All my support to You, Be ha-a-wa-a-wa-a-wa-a-happy! ;)
This is insane, i started practicing this not long ago, probably a week or two max, i've been using mb14 as a base to figure out what to do, after watching this i realized i was on a good path, which made me glad; but it also made me realize how much more i can do to work this out, that one-two-three-four at the start is a such a perfect practice example on how to go about this. The fact that it is just now that i start with this after two years beatboxing and at the same time this video is uploaded, is all just too gratifying, i highly thank you for this tutorial, i'm really looking forward to learn this and will give me my best to have it fully down in the next months (usually i would say weeks, but i want to really settle this one down), it's too amazing that a human being can do all this crazy stuff, and i love the fact this is a thing. Once more i thank you for your work, though you were not my main inspiration, i definitely have you at a high esteem, and loved to watch your videos when i started. Really hope you read this, keep up the awesome work!
You're dope man! Usually when I watch a video the first few minutes could be totally useless and I'd be waiting and waiting until something useful or cool comes up, but your first seconds already makes the watch super worth it. The whole video is cool
Brilliant man, more of this stuff. Crazy too because im recording my first vocal scratch this week and havent really thought about it properly. Cheers big ears. Peace.
You and Ballzee are the dream team. Thank you so much for this tutorial! Been following you what seems like ten years, or so. So generous...and you are actually a funny guy with personality and musicality...anyhoo, nuff gushing ...thanks again, mate!
I have seen so many different Beatboxers around the platform but you are soo different and special to me. More sounds, so organic, and transparent in all the kinds of talent you transport to your listeners. Thank you for being awesome. I see I came up very late with this comment but I wanted to get this off my chest now that I found my favorite Beatbox channel and an amazing musician and entertainer (MC😎) along with it! You are an unbelievable package! Thank you for inspiring and teaching the world what music really is and how easy it is! Looking forward to a big subscription change in the near future! 🥳
You can tell you're trying so hard not to laugh when saying the slowed down syllables XD. Also don't think no one noticed the playing of lady tell that man in the background.
