I am a retired LEO. I changed from Magnum to Original Swat almost 20 years ago. I wore out 2 pair of black 8" side zips and my current desert tan are still going strong. Great boots.
My first pair swat orignal 8inch sz I had it for last 9 years still using them in the fields but got them repaired recently airport friendly with plastic toe and a plastic shank. The colour was coyote. But the one you reviewed is better than the old one.
They would be less than ideal for that purpose. Although almost any shoe will take you there. Something a little more solidly constructed like a hiking shoe will do the job better and be more dependable. The tread pattern on these also will not do well on loose rocks and edges. Simply not designed for that purpose.

I cannot recommend a site. Amazon is a safe bet but the delivery charge is very expensive. If you have a comfortable fit in size 10. Go with the same in these. Mine is a snug 10 so I have to go up a size where the boots are narrow. Else the toes hurt while descending. Original swat generally has a wide enough last so you can be assured of standard sizing. Also they do come in half sizes if you are able to find them online.
Have you tried haix combat boots? I have a pair that look a lot like these swat boots. I like the haix boots a lot. They are really strong, and made in Croatia
I have the haix gsg9 , a really good boot. They are a proper boot very different from these constructed with leather and a vibram sole. One of the best i have found yet. Can't find another pair anywhere.

It costed me significantly more to get from outside. Not worth that much. The black version is available for lesser online (10 grand). Honestly, it's a good shoe but for what it's made of even 10 is too much. Classic demand supply mechanics at work.

just needs stitching around the sole to the upper and then in would be a more sound boot!

Salomon has better quality. Specifically the quest 4 and speed cross.
