Rolled to the bakery and got hot fresh croissants 🥐 I then raced home for coffee ☕️ as quick as a z10 can go, then a rewatch of today’s episode. Thanks for this
Living in Australia...Asian art and sculptures are part of every day so THATS why I love Europe so much...it’s so far away and interesting...see you tomorrow xx Kerrin and Leia xx
I loved your Instastories about the Guimet! So clevah!!! It really looks great. I appreciated your thoughts about Asia and how it’s a whole other massive portion of human history that we’re unfamiliar with in the west. My undergrad minor was Asian Studies and I work with large numbers of people groups from SE Asia now, and it’s such a vast and diverse area of the planet. It’s fascinating. I never made it to the Guimet, but there was another Asian art museum in the 8th, near Park Monceau?? I need to look it up. I can’t remember. I went there instead. It’s possible the Guimet was closed for renovations when I lived there. I like the changes they made to the Palais du Tokyo’s terrace café ! It looks much nicer than it did. It’s a great place to meet up with friends and chill out. Thanks for sharing! 👍🏼✌🏼
Nice video. Enjoyed the footage inside the museum and all the exploring even though the museums were closed. All these museums look fantastic buildings in great surroundings. Your commentary is excellent.
We tried to visit the Louvre last week. We went 4 years ago and walked in and bought tickets. This time you had to buy online and it was sold out way past our trip. Wished we would have known.... I had all the time in the world to buy tickets.
Thank you for posting this! Visiting in early September and planned on using the Museum Pass but even with that, booking a time to enter is compulsory. You just saved me a big headache!
Mima Heart I had a lot of friends posting about this: it JUST started last week, I’m pretty sure. It’s an awful coincidence that your visit co-occurred with the new policy! I’m sorry that happened. I guess you’ll have a good excuse to go back to Paris!
I just checked the Louvre's website and there is no mention of this policy which has me worried as I'm visiting in September. I don't plan to go to the Louvre at all as I used to live in Paris but I'm traveling with two friends who have never been to Paris and I'm sure they will want to go. I'm puzzled by the fact that they don't mention that you must buy tickets online and reserve a time. I did see a notice that they expect the museum to be very crowded so they recommend buying online. Guess I'll ask my friends what they want to do.
jain thorne Here’s the first news article about it that came up online when I googled. It’s dated August 3: www.freemalaysiatoday.com/category/leisure/2019/08/03/paris-packed-louvre-to-make-reservations-compulsory/
Paris has the best museums...Hey Jay , not a lot of people inside? What time did you go?...(I wonder what "Asia" thinks of all their best sculptures been stolen at one point in history) Oh well at least they are kept dry and well preserved!!!...Lovely!!
Add Musée Guimet to my list of museums-to-visit-next-time-I'm-in-Paris. Those Hindu gods and Buddhas were just beautiful and yes, make you reflect on our Western-dominant culture. And....why fret about getting into the Louvre when you've got this & the Musée du Quai Branly?
That intro killed me haha.
I hope we ll still get the intro with the new vlog format.
Good Vlog Jay
So enjoy these videos in and around Paris. Thanks. Here’s hoping they don’t stop when the dailies do. Thanks again.

Thanks for your hungry tour. The Asian museum was great.
After all these trips to Paris, I've never experienced the Guimet. Thanks for the insight and certainly on my list for my next visit.
Glad it shows rain stopped. See you tommorow. Aloha

I thought the same thing....look at all the stolen art but at least it's preserved.

Les gens ne te regardent pas bizarrement quand tu tournes tes intros ?
David Meusnier haha j’ai pensé pareil
Sure thing there are more museums to see apart from the Louvre.
Exactly! I actually prefer Gare d'Orsay. To me it's more beautiful and more manageable in scale.

You seem a little lonely today, or maybe it's just all those empty streets. You could wheel around the Etoile.
It's probably his lack of coffee, food, change and phone charge. It's not his usual environment to be without those things.
@@jainthorne4136 I can't imagine going out without some money. Maybe that should have been the first stop.
Two words: call ahead.
Hahaha attempt two
