Great video! In my research I found that 10:21 is called staion lodge and was the main way into the orginal tower. Apparently you can find the orginal steps overgrown in the gardens!
My wives grandparents lived in the cottage onsite in the 70s/80s as he was the head caretaker at the time. Her dad has memories of running around the grounds after hours back then. You'd never get that now!
Which cottage? The gardeners cottage, the one near curse or the one behind x sector? I’m curious about the one behind x sector bc it’s mysterious to me lol
Love these videos Alton towers is by far my favourite park and closest of the Merlin parks .hadnt been there since early 2000s then bought Merlin passes about 5 years ago and my kids have progressed there from little coasters to big ones .keep up with the videos
@@searcyfamily5292 Thank you, will do! Towers is definitely a great place for people to work their way up with different thrill levels, it worked for me!
I've actually walked all the way down that path to that place whilst there. Its very easy to find if you look down over the railing into the valley when coming out of the nemesis toilets you will see the path below and some stair cases to get to it. Its a very long walk and your very concealed probably around 1/2 story's below the Galactica station its very bushy an I find numerous glass bottles of beer so i assume this is where the young ones come to get drunk before coming on rides? Its best to attempt this in autumn wear thick closes that you would mind getting poked or ripped waterproof grippy shoes like hiking boots and then see off. It will take you a while maybe 20-40mins depending on the condition but the result is well worth it
Fun video! Little late to this one but here's some information for anyone interested : The tracks you see through the trees to the south of the park are service roads (Stretch's from the rear of the star gazing pods all the way to the forbidden valley skyride station, with a different route taking you to the back of Rita), there's also multiple gate entrances that they use for access (can't go too into detail with what they might be used for because of security issues on their behalf) - There's various public footpaths in the area where I walk my dog and occasionally someone will be passing through in a defender. The fallen trees you pointed out are actually very very large rock formations, there's several of note including "King Ina’s rock", very interesting history behind this and Slain Hollow in general.
Good to know im not the only one examining Towers on google maps 😜 i always heard that gate 19 could open up if plans for a steam train line expansion to alton Village went ahead, love the old logo on the staff entrance building that still has a bit of magic
Towers is huge, especially when you view it from above! Went to Thorpe this week to finally got my Hyperia cred and TP is a much better size. I do like the feeling of being in the forest inside towers it feels a bit more magical
You xan enter through the employee and goods entrance, yes the hut is in use, the people in there direct you on how to get in to the park through that entrance
This was cool to see! Unearthing a random interest inside me I didn't know was there haha. That security building at the end too, that's the exit and entry to the site once the park is closed. IE for hotel guests or like me typically when I leave the park late after staying at a restaurant or getting in a queue just before close and then going to the shop etc 😄 Many a time I've left via that way!
It's also technically a public entrance, if you stay at Chained oak (that sign was a sign for the BnB) they literally tell you to go through a field and into that goods and services entrance, then round, through the accessibility car park and under the monorail track as that's the fastest way in, security will even direct you on how to get to the park from that security building 😂
I’ve been looking now funny how it’s all from 15 years ago .ripsaw Burger King .no ride where thirteen is corkscrew gone .im intrigued by the flag tower
@7:45 those things are no longer there. its got some unknown cabin offices and over spill for studios. the vehicles show there are actually rip saws old cabin. @8:04 you see the blue tarp? that's actual a tub boat ride.
@12:43 yes Bagsaws does relate to the house its called Bagsaws house its the entertainment offices fun fact there used to be a swimming pool in its garden! the ugly tarp is hiding Ents things and a Polly tunnel covering some things

@jessicalouiserees8131 the gardeners cottage. I also worked for Alton Towers and the one your talking about is generally used for storage now.
This is great, thanks for commenting! I love the idea of running around the grounds, if only!

Glad you enjoyed! Thanks for the info about that building too 😊 I want to go that way one day now haha
staff here. i belive the building around 12 mins in is a security office to keep an eye and make sure people dont use the staff entrance

Have you done one of these for Thorpe Park? There is a lot to explore there.

Gate 19 used to be a public footpath in the past, going through the park.
Ooh thanks, that’s very interesting!
12:15 I’ve always wondered what that building is for as well, in fact this whole video is me on google maps 🤣
I’m glad it’s not just me! 😅
That building is the main office and audition area for Entertainments. So the actors around the park.
@@TheMaverick987 Thanks that is interesting to know!
If you park at gate 19 & head down the footpath across the road, you'll find the chained out that Hex talks about 😊
