no this is normal as they tend to shift in the lower gears slightly slower to reduce excessive load and shock loading on the gearbox and driveline but if its abnormally slow you may have a issue. as for reverse as in most gearboxes including scania they don't have any syncro rings in reverse gear this means the clutch have to fully disengage before it will select reverse I work for scania as a mechanic and have rebuilt plenty of those boxes bloody things hope this helps.
I have driven an old 124 400 horsepower Scania with a manual stick for a few months now, and the company I work for has also got a R500 with opticruise and the worst thing possible is hitting a red light behind that truck when both are empty, when I shift the old manual box for the first time (at the top of the green band on the rpm gauge) the opticruise has made thee to four changes, forcing me to ease off the throttle each time

@alfx75 if you drive a scania V8 without muffler and 7" straight pipe that's a hell of a noisy truck but they are kinda quiet in sweden.
I drive a Scania now to be honest, or well it is a SAAB but it says SAAB SCANIA on the car and I like that as I am from Sweden. I bought the car before SAAB and Scania splitted up in two companies. I drive a SAAB 9000i 2,3l from 1991.
I have opticruise on my g380 but the transmission has a delay in selecting reverse and when taking off in 1st gear with only a small load it drives slow and selects the next gear slowly, could there be a problem in the software?? service personell here in Australia have limited knowledge and have to relate to technical data to understand the problem.
ive driven this one (2016 model) pretty good truck, compared to 2012 iveco stralis - brakes are very powerful, seat slides very far back, which is comfy for a tall driver like me. What i didnt like that mirrors shake slightly when driving over bumps, and wide angle mirrors are waay too small, cant see shit in them.
Scania's Opticruise needs to include a Tiptronic option with their future trucks, with the gear selector bolted to the driver's seat armrest just like the Volvo's do with their I-Shift equipped trucks. Much more comfortable for the driver who wants to be in control of his gear changes. That's the only thing I dislike about the Opticruise. Otherwise its a good transmission.
Chofer 1: nunca usó el freno motor al salir de la autopista.... Chofer 2 : utilizó R1 para atracar, teniendo la opción Rm, que es la más adecuada y además para subirse a la cabina se cuelga del volante, impresentable!!!
I wondered why there's no gear stick on trucks and now I realized that they have automatic transmission I want that truck, automatic transmission would be great instead of manual.
In USA trucks have no retarders yet. The best truck is Volvo also Paccar brings a lot of out dated technologies from DAF & Iveco which for Americans are a space tech from future they can't serve it no money also to afford it!
If you have looked into running a truck it is not for the faint hearted. Anything that can improve the profitability of your business has got to be a main concern. Fuel can account for around 30-40% of the operators cost's. That's why your not driving vehicles with 20 year old technology. Trucks have changed and so will a good driver adapt - Bad ones wont
If they came over to the states, they would wipe out the domestic makers overnight. People would not want to go back to driving those wartime Kenworths and Petes once they drove one of these. The driving experience will be as different as day and night. US drivers would see they've been hoodwinked to think they have the best trucks all these years when in fact...
Worst gear box ever how can an automatic have a clutch pedal mine constantly won't select gear when clutch pedal flat to the floor and is very slow to engage and a weird system that slows you down in cruise control before reaching the brow of a hill , cab is small bed is narrow and uncomfortable I'm not a fan it needs a whole new re vamp from the dated look it has had for a decade
Nope, they pot the tourqe down becus the gearbox coud'nt have that high tourqe, ( if i have to belive a friend of mine that is working in the MAN garage)
lovetogokiev Especially when going downhill. There are good reasons, why there are so many brake check parking lots for US trucks, before going downhill. The technic of the last century must be controlled
so what was the problem with moving a bloody gearstick? Opticruise is godawful. If you must have an autobox then may I recommend a Volvo, mercedes, daf or an MAN. these at least don't fire it straight into 2nd gear when approaching a clear roundabout because they think you are stopping. Our firm has proved conclusively that opticruise equipped vehicles are typically 2mpg worse than the outgoing manual transmission models and a lot slower on take off. I LIKE Scanias, but only with a gear stick

BEAST MODE = SCANIA MODE!
I know nothing about lorrying, but if I'd have to have one, I'd buy a Scania
Thanks for that, knowing that it's normal doesn't fix it but tells me I have to be patient, only the drivers behind me are patient too
Very good lorry!
King of the Road!

Ich mag den Scania .Er sieht sehr edel und gut gelungen aus. Danke an das Scania Werk.!!!!
@adydrifter what's that sound at 1:53?? all the trucks make that sound?
very good vídeo. I like ' ' Scania ' ' Number 1.
I drive a Scania now to be honest, or well it is a SAAB but it says SAAB SCANIA on the car and I like that as I am from Sweden. I bought the car before SAAB and Scania splitted up in two companies.

Nice video. What is soundtrack(music)? I liked it a lot! Thanks!
driving like a boss
My favorite trucks in Euro Truck Simulator 2 are the Scania
Is it the Scania bus also have opticruise system? And also the truck and bus with opticruise system only need two pedal only?
Yes, I hope so, maybe ask around a bit.
I have been shifting 16spd boxes for 20 years... Fun you say??
I will take the truck driving license when I turn 21 which is soon. I like the V8 sound from the Scania.

There was a Scania truck dealer in Charlotte. I don't know what happened, but now it's a Peterbilt dealer.
Love scania since I was 2 I'm a big fan I have a scania r730'my dad brought it me when I was 20 so it's my home and car

Stockholm i think.
@@sammetpuntjes scandinavia DLC😉
What is automatic rocking mode
@maltijien Actually, I have changed my mind I prefere full auto.Especially to drive in the city.
I like changing gear with a manual gearbox... It gives me the control
I want to use a stick.. It also makes you move a little bit.. More healthy than sitting dead still for 300 km at a time
+TheFlyingMenace what you have no internet on your mobile?
Why do Opticruise trucks have 3 pedals if they don't have stick shifts???
@DanW900
as the saying goes, if you cant find them, GRIND THEM
yep real drivers have a gear stick pal totally agree with you
This comment didn't age well😂
is this in sweden?
nice video
I Love Scania
Fun that my uncle is the one who created the opticruise system

Automatic transmission ?
Its an automated manual gearbox
You like Scania's?

Gdyby życie kierowcy tak wyglądało... :)
Maxence SCANIA
Please take oversized SCANIA trucks in video
I like scania & volvo FH 16
Our power mode doesn't work
We need a Top Gear Truck Show
Thumbs up if u agree
Petition Jeremy Clarkson for a european truck episode.
SCANIA AND VOLVO HAVE ALMOST THE SAME GEAR -
IF YOU ASK ME WHAT TRUCK IS THE WORST- RENAULT !!!
@maltijien
at least you guys don't use crash boxes. LOL. the Americans still use them.
In USA atleast 90% of trucks still use stick shift old Eaton Fuller box with 7-10 gears which is hard to shift but easy to miss!
Scania without v8 is sad. :[
Why not just a Allison auto gearbox, shifts fast and is powerful, even with our G280 garbagetruck
Because planetary gearset & torque converter automatics have no place in big trucks. They're fine for garbage trucks and other smaller vehicles.
IIIII WANT IT!
Where's the fun in that?
@aagniux123
Wish the girl would be the one handling the papers in real world also :)
Man blir skapligt avensjuk :=)
i have 6 trucks in ETS2 all of them are SCANIAS .... :D
I-shift is bette. But a Scania have a better look... ;)
Mo our mp to Ao our Ap kiya hai batawey
Scania...apparantly the peterbilt of europe.
nuke mecca
No, the Peterbilt is the Scania of North America
Give me a manual gearbox any day of the week and I can change quicker than the opticruse gearbox
Kevin Burns That weird system is Scania Active Prediction. May be you don't know how to operate the opticruise. Go for some lessons
Fully auto?? nah no fun in that. I like to choose my own gears thank you very much.howeve Scania is my top choice of truck. nice trucks.....
Even the new opticruise is still one of the crappiest auto gearbox I have ever driven. Miss i-shift :(
Nope, they pot the tourqe down becus the gearbox coud'nt have that high tourqe, ( if i have to belive a friend of mine that is working in the MAN garage)
Scania Rules
Sadly not :(
Opticruise is bad very bad, volvo i-shift win the competition, hope scania using volvo i-shift like daf n man.
god
to skid the wheels @ 3.38 to hook up semi trailer is poor driving..
yeah maybe, but dosent look good, dosent have V8 engine is bette :)
toi cung la nguoi me se tai hang nang
scania has more tourqe so man has only 2500nm of tourqe and 620 ( scania has 3000 ) so the scania is the 2e powerfull truck ;)
you need a man's truck....a Peterbilt
lovetogokiev
Especially when going downhill. There are good reasons, why there are so many brake check parking lots for US trucks, before going downhill. The technic of the last century must be controlled
grabbing the steering wheel on getting in the cab, hahahaha, nerd!
Scania have a good truck but the Opticruise is no where near as good as Volvo Ishift
volvo i shift
cabine volvo fh,mieux que scania.
