If I hold Q,4 and you hold 6,4 and the flop has 4,J,4 then we both have the same 3 of a kind and nobody is cheating. If I have Q,4 and you have Q,4 and the flop has 4,Q,4 then we both have the same full house and nobody is cheating. Extremely unlikely but it could happen.
I’ve recently been asked to join my neighborhood’s monthly small-stakes 6-player game. I haven’t played before, but this gave me a really good basic understanding of the terminology and fundamental gameplay. I’m now really looking forward to joining the group. Thanks!!

I’m JUST learning to play poker, and I’ve watched SO MANY poker-for-beginner tutorials…but I haven’t actually played a game because even though I feel I know the rules, everytime I try to play, I get mixed and confused…all the videos I’ve watched were good but this video has BY FAR explained the game to me in such a way that so many elements of the game just CLICKED for me! Just wanted to point out one thing that 3 of a kind can never be similar in 2 players' hands because there are only 4 cards of a value of a particular suit. Same goes for 4 of a kind as it is self explanatory. Thanks a lot for creating these videos!

Hi. I am expert poker player. I usually get around 4 royal flushes per game. Easy for me. Having said that, I think this tutorial is really good for beginners. Of course, they will never be as good as I am, but this video at least gives the necessary information to score at least a pair or higher every game.
The thing that helps me win more is to remember to not only consider my hand’s possibilities, but consider what is possible for others to have as well. Like if you have 8 and 3, with 9,8,9,J,A on the table you shouldn’t really bet that much even though you have two pairs, because anyone holding a jack, ace, or 9 beats you instantly, and there is 4 of each of those cards so your odds aren’t great. (Simple example but yeah)
Couldn't agree more with this thinking. You cant just think about what you a have you need to think about what your opponent could have and how easy is it for them to have a hand that beats yours...
This is the best tutorial I've seen. I was having trouble understanding the game. I still need to know the relationship of betting is with the game. Im still not totally clear on it.
If you have any specific questions feel free to ask! Think of it as being somewhat like an auction, where the winner gets to keep what everyone else has put in.

First time sitting down in poker room was doing pretty good for the first hour even though I didn’t know what I was doing chasing the river didn’t seem so bad call it luck but chasing a flush and a straight did not do me any good thank you for the tips and information on learning how to bet

Some key things you were talking about I wish there was an "thought screen" you could put up like a bubble when you're making an example of what other people might have as you were explaining. You probably can't put anymore things on your screen as is, but I just wanted to bring that up. I needed this video, I play free poker on Tuesdays nights at a local bar in my town. I go up because I know a lot of people their. I suck at poker. But I am getting better. But I suck at Reading and understanding what beat what. I appreciate this video a lot. I will definitely come back to this video a lot more. I've been going to cards for probably almost a year or so.

I got a royal flush in Texas holdem casino poker once. The same week my friend also got it. It was absolutely bizzare. I have got royal flush in 3 card poker couple of months down the line as well. But eventually lost all the winnings to casino.

Nice. My understanding is the "burn" card is just in case a player got a glimpse of the top card.
