Two things I loved this stream was the mocking voice mori did for Backseating dead beats and that one of the ONLY things she remembered about DS2 was the silly Royal Rat Authority. I look forward to the news, if it's what I'm expecting I'm super excited.
Literally every Dark Souls stream is 10/10. 2 is just a different beast altogether with everything From tried in it, but the suffering is just peak every time.
True. And I think it was worse on Mori to jump from 1 to 3 and skipping 2 as 2 is more closely related to how 1 plays. Going back from 3, you can really feel the downgrade.
The implied lore of the Pursuer is actually pretty neat. They're not just one being seeking the bearer of the curse; each one is a different knight that is cursed. It's such a missed opportunity game play wise. I wish each pursuer had atleast a different move set to change it up a bit and keep every encounter fresh so it actually feels like a different being each time you face them.
1:27:45 "There's nothing that wastes more time than trying to save time" is the DS2 motto. The game really wants you to be more patient and methodical, learn attack patterns, and time your dodge instead of panicking. Also the entire theme of the game is to get frustrated and give up / hollow out
Indeed. A big mistake one can do in the Iron Keep is to just run to that fog gate, ignoring the opposition. Especially since fog gates in DS2 DO NOT immediately give i-frames 😁😁😁
May not be the same issue but, what I found really helpful in preventing foot pain where it felt like I pulled my muscle was doing calf stretches using a wall or desk. Hope you feel better soon and thanks for the stream Calli! Good luck at the doctors!
I'd like to give some context to the PvP centered areas you went through. When playing offline, the game loads in a red phantom in these areas to replace the human players, which you fought. Belfry Luna gets you invaded by bell keeper covenant players. The prizes are high-value upgrade materials, so you can people really sweating here, abusing lag and such. As a host, the mobs attack you whether you're in the covenant or not, which you noticed. To help out the host, there's an essentially invincible friendly phantom you can summon. Also note that the second floor has a hole that drops into a hidden area which carries the blue tearstone ring. This ring is actually pretty powerful in this game, especially if you're levelling your health pool, and often will let you survive at least one additional hit. There is indeed no pain-free way of soloing the belfry gargoyles, unless you have high damage output. Doors of Pharros is/are (plural?) very unique. If you joined the covenant beforehand by going through the other rat area, all the mobs (in the big open part of the area) become friendly. You can't target or hit them, nor can they hit you. For PvP, the aggressor is the host. Other players going through the area are forcefully summoned as phantoms into the covenant player's world, and the mobs target the phantom. Although it's disturbing to be forcefully summoned, there's actually few downsides, as dying as a phantom just sends you home. You can even just black crystal home at any time. The only risk is equipment breakage. The area has a lot of projectile traps, some of which you can deflect with an attack. If you miss, you end up getting massive objects lodged in your player character. I've goofed around my fair share. The Royal Rat Authority's charge attack is technically dodgeable. Technically. Nobody likes this boss. I see that you're trying to be choosy about armor. Optimization is hell, so I'm going to give you some dirty secrets. For physical defense, in most situations, 1 defense point equals a flat 0.1 damage point reduction. So for physical defense, armor really sucks and you shouldn't fret over defense differences of 10, 50, or even 300. The real value of armor is fashion and poise. The gyrm sets of armor, some of which you got, has some of the best poise per weight in the game, and even gives you fashionable shorts and gloves to wear. And so I end up massacring the gyrm in the doors of pharros... Also, magic defense is percentage based and 1 point is 0.1%, so don't fret over small values there either. Shields just use straight percentage points. 1:40:40 I've actually had this guy get stuck behind the chest, breaking it as he continued to run behind it 1:41:52 CALLI 3:31:55 With heavy weapons, you turn to attack in the direction of your movement stick even when locked on 4:46:20 The hood teeth lore feels like a long-forgotten memory 5:13:00 Vengarl sells extra stuff once you defeat his body, including special equipment 5:29:33 "What is that thing? ...It's kinda hot" That's some foreshadowing
It's been a pleasure watching you play through this game so far, really means a lot to fans of it like me. Even through the tough and kind of annoying fights they throw at you, you persevere through it all. Regarding the dilemma of getting Tark's ring, you have more peaceful options. You can either talk to him after defeating the boss of the latest area you found, or wait until you get the better version of it in an even later area. Whatever call you make, I look forward to seeing it all next time!
Thank you for the stream! You're making good progress and lots of areas unlocked! The wheelchair Santa is someone to seek out. He's one of the best NPCs in the game, but he likes to hide. Looking forward to the announcement and more Dark Souls II streams! It's great watching someone new to the game react to it! (Even the jank like fighting the Royal Rat Authority a second time lol)
Ton of progress done today, you endured through more DS2 and even got to appreciate some of the nicer parts of it, you're adapting fast and doin well Reaps, and most importantly, we getin even better drip! Thanks for today, hope your foot feels better, and lookin forward to big news!
Great fun stream! After the horrors of No-Man's Wharf, safe to safe it should be *slightly* better tides from now on! Can't wait for the announcement, following the announcement of the announcement!
7 hours of ds2. Sure as heck didn't feel like it. Awesome progress! The Souls Empress is unstoppable! Not even a silly rat...dog...thing could stop her!
Mori: we’re friends right? Bell keeper: *stares up blankly for a moment then suddenly chops her in the shin with his axe* Mori: ARE YOU KIDDING ME???!!!!! Felt that
You have beeen doing so good now that you have your preferred weapon Calli, I think I would have folded in some situations, I think you are getting more accoustumed to this game, cant wait to see how it goes from here, thanks Calli, see ya for another stream!!
WAIT i do know you In episode 1 i said idk who you are but i know you sang the song for the One Piece vegapunk library at the ending. Absolutely love it
I've known Cali through her streaming some years ago, so it's delightful to see someone new come to know Cali through her recent music in One Piece. But yeah, welcome to the Dead Beat party. It's a good time over here~
DaS2 does a great job making things different, though she'll probably never run into a lot of those things. I've heard a lot of talk about armor, but pre-DLC you might want to hunt down the Forlorn invaders. Beating one adds a piece of their armor to the masked wizard's boss soul shop. One other thing, you might want to invest in a bow or greatbow to lure single enemies that hang out in packs to you. There is a particular area later where you get stuck in 4-5 on 1s. Elden Ring liked to put annoying ambushes in places, but DaS2 ambushes are specifically set up to kill you. So whether it's ranged attacks or poison, it helps to get an extra edge on them.
A (perhaps unnecessary) bit of trivia. The Ruin Sentinels are referenced in DS3, at the entrance to the Ringed City. IIRC, the archers that the judicator summons feature the Ruin Sentinels' armor, and there is a set nearby. According to lore, Vendrick sent them there in an attempt to claim the Dark Soul, but they failed and I think were forced to become the City's guardians. The Ruin Sentinels themselves are golems, created from armor, maybe by using the technology Vendrick got from the giants.
@@devrenddelarose You may be onto something - the ruin armor set is a bit different from Loyce set, but it could have been derived from it, or something - the lore leaves a lot of reedom for interpretation. Also, the king, who sent ruin knights to the Ringed City, is referred to as simply an "old king", so it was not necessarily Vendrick, although I like to think it was.
You got a BUNCH of progress done today. One major boss down, one on the way. However, you much face the greatest enemy you’ve ever had to overcome in a Souls game. A giant dogIMean Rat!!!
Thanks for the stream, Calli! Gutslliope is teaching these bosses that quantity is no match for quality Very sorry to hear about your foot; hope it turns out okay. Congratsu on the kotatsu though! Also props to you for your weird cat # puzzle. I feel like a prize donkey for getting close but falling short bc of a small error and then going in an embarrassingly wrong direction. But after seeing others find the real solution, I can only say well done to them and you! Solid puzzle, HYPE news! Maybe we’ll hear more about it soon
Great stream, I knew you'd have a better time with it once you got past the beginning. I don't expect anything to give you real trouble until you get to Fume Knight. I'm excited for the announcement. Bananas with their potassium might help with your foot muscles.
sadly I haven't catched up to all DS2 vods but its nice to see that you're still going strong with a STR build! I also finished one of my many DS2 SotFS runs with a STR build and I highly recommend the Large Club - is one of the few weapons that has S scaling in strenght, is capable of easily staggering/squashing enemies and has a manageable weight. And don't be afraid of blaming the game when you die - while DS2 SotFS is my guilty pleasure, this game still sucks ass and it is by far the worst entry in the series

I feel like that's a lot of DS2 in general. So many great ideas, but most feel just short of having its top potential drawn out.
1:27:45 "There's nothing that wastes more time than trying to save time" is the DS2 motto. The game really wants you to be more patient and methodical, learn attack patterns, and time your dodge instead of panicking. Also the entire theme of the game is to get frustrated and give up / hollow out

Hello!
cute!
Mowi 11 lifegems is not "plenty". 50 would be closer to "plenty".
Do keep in mind that if you use several lifegems one after another it stacks up.
Sending good vibes ❤❤❤❤❤❤👈🥰
Have a great day 😀 😊 😄 ☺️
