    I have the Allegro and I love it, right now I am just quilting pieces together with 1//4 seams. It really does a beautiful job on button holes as well.

    Went from a 30 plus year old Pfaff to this. Little bit of a learning curve, but I LOVE it. Just did a quilt on it with FMQ (first one ever).

    The threader is a step down from other threaders. Why do they do that?

    • @carolinasewnvac735
      @carolinasewnvac735  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Its the same as the lower end models so I would assume it was to keep consumer cost down.

    I just bought the Allegro and I'm having an absolute nightmare of a time with tension. I'm trying to attempt free motion. The minute I drop the feed dogs the bobbin thread bunches up into huge piles. Just making a simple line it does the same thing. I used the single stitch plate as instructed with the manual, dropped the feed dogs and whammy, a ball of thread on the bottom of my fabric. I'm at a loss at what to do. I keep raising the tension like the manual suggests too. What am I doing wrong?

    • @carolinasewnvac735
      @carolinasewnvac735  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Make sure you are threading the take up properly, this problem is most commonly caused by improper threading.

      @@eddigilstrap9627 I took it back and they were having the same problem. They sent it for repair. Came back saying it had to be on tension 9 for it to work! I still was having tension issues even after that so I just exchanged it for a Crescendo. Much, much happier!

    Do they have a serpentine stitch

  • @babszollak2512

    Thank you for the demonstration Please think to use contrasting thread and fabric so it can be seen better on camera. Hold things steady when showing stitches. Hard to see when moving the fabric around, flipping it back and forth and running your fingers over the stitching.

    I bought Allegro few months ago as an upgrade for my $280 Brother XR9500PRW.... absolutely hate it. I don't quilt but make clothes, which I told the shop where I got it, and majority of the time I sew with knits. Allegro eats my fabric, when attempted to use twin needle, right needle doesn't catch. Stretch stitch, #004 is awful, totally useless. Can't use a twin needle or stretch stitch.
    I can't express how dissatisfied and disappointed I am and this is not a cheap machine by any means. I never had any issues with my cheap Brother. The only good things are auto knot, large throat and auto thread cutter. But then, what's the point if the machine doesn't do what I need it to do.
    Oh and lettering...made such a mess it ate the thread in the needle shaft housing and I had to bring the machine to the repair shop literally after 1 time use. I'm not novice, I've been sewing for the past 14-15 years.
    All this said, if all you're sewing are woven fabrics, this machine is good. As good as my cheap Brother.
